5 Great Products for Curly Hair

As a curly hair gal, I thought my first blog post  should be about my naturally curly frizzy fine flat and sometimes unruly hair and some of the products I have used and am still using that has make my hair look somewhat alive. A lot of words to describe my hair, I know.

Keeping in mind that everyone’s hair is different. I know because I have two little girls with very different hair type and texture. Know your curl type – mind is 3b. Textured hair has special care and styling needs based on its unique curl patterns.

Now that you know your hair type, you will be able to determine which products will be best for you.    I’ve always heard that curly hair is one of the hardest hair types to manage and style because it is drier, more prone to split ends and breakage, affected more by humidity, and brushing can lead to a frizzy mess.

However, some of these products will make you want to love your curls and make the most of your gorgeous curls.360 lace wigs

EverCreme Sulfate-Free Nourishing Conditioner; US $6.99, CAD $8.99

What I like about this is that it moisturizes my hair like nobody’s business without being weighdown. This is from the drugstore and it is Sulfate-Free, which means it is free of harsh sulfates and heavycoating waxes. It says it uses botanical ingredients with Omega- 3 & 6 and a triple action conditioning system to moisturize naturally. After use, my hair is left very hydrated, soft and shine. Also, this smells heavenly.10793106-1365090441-943721

Joico K-Pak Conditioner; US $16.00, CAD $19.99

Formulated with Keratin Silicone Complex.  This conditioner is supposed to lock in moisture, seals that repaired cuticle, and delivers intense shine and smoothness to your newly-protected hair.  Since I have dry, fine, and sometimes colour treated hair, I use this along with the matching shampoo and it has helped to notably take down the frizz in my hair with less breakage. AvedaBeCurlyEnhancer

Aveda be Curly Curl Enhancer; US $21.00, CAD $27.00

This contains organic babassu oil which is intended to elongate tight spirals.  This does leave my hair healthy-looking with bouncy curls that last all day.  It makes my curly hair look perfect and soft, and it doesn’t dry crunchy or get greasy and although it makes my hair more defined and look smoother and shinier, I wouldn’t say it entirely prevents the frizz.Matrix_Biolage_Styling_Gelee_500ml_1389109629

Biolage Styling Gelée; US $16.15, CAD $19.99

This is Paraben-Free. It says it is an all-purpose gel that is ideal for all hair types to add body, shine and control and I certainly have to agree. I have been using this gel for years and although I always stray, I always come back to this gel. I find that it makes my hair more flexible and smooth and it does add body and shine. It has great hold without been too heavy or stiff.sleekhair_2271_2026391007

Bumble & Bumble Curl Conscious Calming Crème; US $29.00, CAD $34.75

This is actually a thick cream designed for coarse curls, and since I do have rather thin hair, I have to be careful it doesn’t weigh my hair down but what I do like about this is that it leaves a nice spiral to them and it does give my hair a much thicker, voluminous feel.  I love that it defines my curls and reduce the frizz.
