Recently I had the opportunity to try a few Arbonne products I had been curious about. This is a brand that I’m familiar with but haven’t tried a lot of their products particular their skincare line. I purchased a few products and have been using them for a couple months now and wanted to share my thoughts on them…

If you don’t know, Arbonne is a skincare company originated from Switzerland that specializes in Anti-Aging, Skin and Body Care, Cosmetics, and Health and Wellness. With the brand promise of “pure, safe, and beneficial”, Arbonne concentrates on making their products vegan and chemical free.

CALM Soothing Facial Serum – CAD $54.00

This is a very lightweight watery serum that has a moisture barrier soothing complex that is supposed to lock in moisture, leaving skin feeling immediately hydrated. As the texture is so lightweight, it absorbs quickly into the skin. The immediate effect is calming and smoothing.

It has a dropper application, which allows you to control the amount of product dispensing. The Arbonne Soothing Facial Serum contains many beneficial ingredients such as cucumber, mallow, licorice and Japanese green tea – all known for calming and repair irritated skin. Although not the most hydrating serum because it’s so lightweight, overall I am really pleased with the way it makes my skin feels as it’s good at restoring the skin’s moisture. It’s a little sticky at first but without the greasy feel and is suitable for super sensitive skin. For me – no break outs, no irritation and no clogging with this.

Intelligence Nourishing Facial Oil – CAD $95.00

If you’ve been reading my blog for a bit now, then you know just how much I love facial oils. I use it every night as part of my nightly skincare routine, whether by itself or a few drops in my serums or moisturizers. This is a sheer dry oil formula, enhanced with ingredients that contain omega fatty acids 3 and 6 and a super antioxidant helps support luminous skin beauty. Like a superfood for your skin, this illuminating oil provides just the right amount of superior hydration and moisture where it’s needed most, all the while improving the look of skin texture to help create a more radiant-looking, even-toned complexion.

There are many oils out there that can be too heavy but this one is the opposite. It has a very lightweight texture and feel on the skin and it absorbs quite easily and quickly. Although I like this oil very much, it isn’t my favorite and I didn’t find that it was as hydrating as I would have liked it to be especially in this winter weather. I suspect that in the warmer months, I will enjoy this a lot more. However, I did find that it does make my skin look brighter and more even and I have a nice glow in the morning after waking up. There are no fragrances in this facial oil which is great.

RE9 Corrective Eye Crème – CAD $73.00

I had gotten an opportunity to test this eye cream for a few days prior to purchasing it myself and my first impression of it at the time was that it was so thick. This eye cream claims to help diminish the look of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles and is part of Arbonne’s anti-aging range. I don’t have dark circles but when I don’t get a whole lotta sleep I can wake up with puffy eyes and I do have some fine lines. The corrective eye créme features algae extract, marine lavender extract and hydrolyzed lupine protein.

After continuous use, I found this one to be a bit heavy for my needs, it’s a rich creamy eye treatment I found good for overnight hydration (applied in small doses) but for everyday it will probably be too heavy for my skin type. It feels very soothing and hydrating without being greasy but it takes a while to sink into the skin and most times it felt like it was sitting on top of my skin. I must say that a little goes a long way as I only need the tiniest amount and it has a nice light citrus scent.

While I like this eye cream, to be completely honest, I wasn’t blown away by it like I was hoping I would. I was hoping I finally found my go-to eye cream but this is not the case with this. Yes, it definitely kept under my eyes moisturized, but I wasn’t seeing improvement in fine lines and I didn’t find that it made my under eyes look any softer or reduce fine lines in anyway. My hubby also tried this eye cream and here’s his experience below….

Hubby ran out of his eye cream and decided to give this a try. After using this for 1 or 2 days he was complaining that it was giving him wrinkles under the eyes (and let me tell you, honestly, hubby has NO wrinkles under his eyes but he uses an eye cream for dark circles because he’s a workaholic who travels constantly and doesn’t sleep). He stated it felt sticky and it bunches the skin together which he doesn’t like at all. Hubby described the eye cream as almost like a paste that sits on the skin without being absorbed.

Since only using it for 1-2 days, he hasn’t touched it since. What I think is that this eye cream might just be too thick for his liking and it just didn’t work for his skin type. I find that because it is such a thick eye cream, it is best to warm it up on your fingertips prior to application otherwise it will feel really thick and sticky.

Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF15 in Deep Beige – CAD $54.00

Ever since I saw Whatwouldlizzydo do a review of this foundation on her Youtube channel a little while back, I had been curious about it; so of all the above purchases, this and the facial oil were the ones I was most excited to try.

This foundation comes in 15 shades and has an SPF 15. My shade is Deep Beige and it’s a touch too dark but I make it work. I think it will match a lot better in the summer when I have a tan. It’s packaged in a simple clear plastic bottle with a plastic pump dispenser. The packaging is nothing too fancy, but it’s very practical. I find two pumps sufficient to cover the entire face. I’m all about the glow, so I like foundations that are glowy but I prefer a finish that isn’t too dewy where I will look oily even though I have combination/dry skin.  What I like best about this foundation is the formula gives a nice glow, has enough coverage to covers imperfections and dark spots, and has a natural finish without being too dewy. I still need to set with powder. The consistency of this foundation is quite runny and has a medium, but buildable coverage. It’s a great foundation, but it’s comparable to many foundations I’ve tried for half the price. I like using a buffing brush with this formula but a sponge works great too. It glides on smoothly and evens out the skin in a very natural kind of way. I couldn’t detect any scent which is a plus for those with sensitive noses. It didn’t oxidize during the day which is always great as well.

Overall, though very pricey, I’ve had a positive experience with these products and I’m happy I had the opportunity to try them. If I had to recommend or repurchased anything, it would be the calming serum if you are on the sensitive and oily/normal side and the foundation is really wonderful too. I have also in the past reviewed their Smoothed Over Lipsticks which I love by the way and still wear to this day and also their Lip Treatment.  The only con is that these products aren’t readily available in stores, so if you would like to purchase any Arbonne products, you would have to get an Arbonne consultant, who you can order these items from. I purchased all my products from the lovely Santina so if you’re from the Toronto area, check out Santina’s website for purchases.

Note that all of these products were purchased by me and this is in no way sponsored.
