I’ve been intrigued by Korean skincare for quite some time now and have played with items here and there incorporating bits into my skincare routine over the past 3+ years. I was sent a couple items by the brand Klairs, from Wishtrend and have been testing them for the past two plus months and have reviews to share today. Wishtrend is a Korean cosmetic distribution company where you can find beauty products and brands. Skincare testing has become a huge part of my life the past few years especially as I age I’ve become more conscious of taking care of my skin.

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum (US $22.99)

With a fortifying blend of organic ingredients, including celery, carrot root, and broccoli extract, the Rich Moist Soothing Serum replenishes your skin’s moisture levels without compromising the delicate nature of your skin. Formulated with Hyaluronic acid and a rich blend of natural ingredients including Centella, Grapefruit, Aloe, Luffa, and Rice bran extracts, this serum calms irritated skin while strengthening the skin’s natural protective barrier. Klairs recently upgraded the formula of this serum with zero animal ingredients and cruelty-free vegan formula.

With a mild refreshing, citrus scent, the serum has a lightweight watery-gel texture. It is soothing and improves hydration over time. I have dry/combo and sensitive skin – I am very prone to dryness/redness around my mouth and nose area, and I get major headaches from a lot of fragranced skincare. But this serum is suitable for my dry/sensitive skin without any irritation. Application is smooth and easy to apply and the best thing about this one is that I’ve found it compatible with all my other moisturizers from other brands (at least the ones I’ve tried it with). It is lightweight and non-greasy. It does need a couple minutes to be fully absorbed into the skin but once it does, it will replenish the skin with moisture, improve and soften skin texture. One to 1 ½ pumps is more than enough to cover my entire face. This serum has a smooth slippery feel when applied on the skin and does feel a little tacky after application but it is light enough not to clog the pores. You can find list of ingredients here. This isn’t the most hydrating serum on the market or one that I have ever used; but it gives me enough hydration and since I do layer my skincare products, it just really works well in combination with my other skincare products.

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (US $27.00)

This lightweight overnight mask is packed with a heavy dose of vitamin E, an antioxidant known to slow down cell aging. This mask is also abundant in Niacinamide, which fades hyperpigmentation and helps to further stabilize Vitamin C, and also helps with brightening and firming up the skin. Lastly, its Adenosine component promotes cell regeneration, which works to improve fine lines & wrinkles.

The pudding-like texture transforms into a rich essence upon contact with the skin. The texture also known as “shape memory cream” retains its shape in the jar after usage. The product comes with a spatula in the box which you can use to extract the mask from the jar, as not to contaminate the product.

It’s a lightweight but hydrating facial mask that brightens and nourishes the skin overnight. It’s gentle enough to use nightly but I used this about 2-3 times per week. This is not enough for me to use as just a moisturizer for my skin so I use it as a night cream or sleeping mask. Just like the Soothing Serum, since I do layer my skincare products, this just really works well in combination with my other skincare products. It took a few tries for me to get the right amount without overdoing it as you don’t need to use a lot. After using this I wake up with amazing skin. The morning after, my skin glows, looks brighter, feels smoother and looks plumped and hydrated without giving me any clogged pores or irritation. It’s good for my dry somewhat sensitive skin. It absorbs nicely without feeling tacky and it doesn’t leave any residue behind. You can find list of ingredients here.

You don’t have to associate quality skincare with high price tags so I highly recommend these two products. They are very effective and very affordable. You can find these products here.

Have you tried anything from Wishtrend/Klairs? If so, do you have any skincare favorites?
