I’ve been trying a few things from NYX Cosmetics for a few months now and I have continued to be impressed with a lot of their makeup. From their Micro brow pencil, their Matte Finish Setting Spray to their Eye Palettes and Lipsticks. But today, I’m going to briefly talk a little about their Lid and Lip Lingerie line.

NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks

One of the first liquid lipsticks on the scene was the NYX’s Lip Lingeries. I don’t have a large collection of liquid lipsticks but some of the ones I have are Holy Grails for me as they surprisingly look very flattering on me. I still do prefer a glossy finish but these Lip Lingerie have become staples in my everyday routine. I have three shades to share with you today:

Bedtime Flirt – rosy cinnamon (my fave)

Ruffle Trim – dusty peach

Embellishment – muted purple

NYX describes these as weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish. These liquid lipsticks glide on very smooth and feels very thin, not heavy. They feel creamy but they do take a while to set. You need to go over the lips a couple times to get opaque coverage. They’re a little bit patchy but it’s nothing you can’t work with and the applicator is a little awkward but the product inside is very nice, soft and moussey. I do not find that these dries to a completely matte finish but they are very comfortable.

The formula of this liquid lipstick is very nice and they feel a lot more comfortable then Colourpop, ABH and even KVD but they do not last as long as those. The Lip Lingerie are not drying but they do feel sticky when you press your lips together and they do transfer after eating and drinking. These liquid lipsticks are slightly more liquidy than the soft matte range by NYX (love these). The two shades that I wear all the time are Bedtime Flirt and Ruffle Trim because they flatters my skintone the best but Embellishment is a really unique shade from the collection and different to the rest of the colors.

At $7 a piece they are a steal and will make a great addition to your makeup collection if you are into the matte lip trend. The only thing I dislike about these are how sticky they are.

Nyx Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette

NYX has turned their liquid lip colors into an eyeshadow palette. The NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette is an extension of their Lip Lingerie Matte Liquid Lipsticks, a collection of neutral lip colors.

The Lid Lingerie features six creamy matte neutrals that is packed with a wide range of tones and depth into one small palette. Each velvety-matte shade blends like a dream and delivers incredible color payoff, with both warm and cool shadows included.

I really enjoy the tones of this palette for a drugstore palette. You get really nice colors. There are colors to set your lid and really good transition ones too. The formula is smooth, bendability and pigment is really good in this palette and the colors are really great. The shadows lasted all day on the lids with a primer and fallout was minimal. You can achieve a variety of looks with this palette, from natural to dramatic.

I recommend checking this out if you’re looking for really nice transition in a basic palette like this and despite the small size, the actual pans of shadow are pretty big. These are all matte shades and great for starting any eye look and best of all it’s from the drugstore. At CAD $10, this palette is a steal at such a great value! It’s also a great little palette for traveling.

You can purchase NYX Lip & Lid Lingerie at your local drugstores or online.
