When it comes to my hair, I don’t like to do a whole lot. I like to keep a very simple haircare routine which is just wash, deep condition and style but I do have very fine curly hair that’s also frizzy and dry on the ends so I always welcome products that deliver nourishment to keep my hair while keeping it looking and feeling healthy; as well as helping to minimize breakage.
So today I’m rounding up the newest haircare collection from Shea Moisture. I had the pleasure of testing the Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens collection which is infused with a unique blend of Moringa, Avocado, Kale, Matcha Tea and Green Algae. This collection will revitalize dull hair with intense moisture and deep conditions to help minimize breakage.
All of Shea Moisture hair products contain no silicone, sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or petrolatum.
The Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Shampoo and Conditioner is specially formulated with Fair Trade Shea Butter and a blend of Moringa, Avocado, Kale, Matcha and Green Algae, to deliver intense nourishment with 7x more shine, without weighing hair down. This shampoo lathers well and gently cleanses my hair and scalp without stripping strands of natural oils. It has a nice scent and left my hair feeling really soft and moisturized. The consistency of the shampoo was quite liquidy but I had no problems getting it on my hair. The conditioner is lightweight and not heavy. It does a decent job of moisturizing my hair but it wasn’t my favorite. It was just okay. The formula rinses out nicely and doesn’t weigh my hair down.
The Moringa Avocado Power Greens Hair Rinse is something you use as a shampoo alternative. It is the second step of this regimen or use instead of a shampoo on light wash days. On full wash days use as the second step in your hair care regimen to get superior softness and up to 7x more shine. Also formulated with Fair Trade Shea Butter and a blend of Moringa, Avocado, Kale, Matcha and Green Algae, this revitalizing formula gives your hair the boost of confidence it needs to help it look its best/healthiest. I didn’t see much of a low lather with this and I did massage it into my scalp. I also couldn’t tell if this did anything in particular and I honestly could do without it in my hair routine. I might have to just isolate it by itself and use just as a rinse to see if I see a difference because every time I’ve used it was part of the four-step method. For me, it was just okay as I didn’t notice it doing anything like softening or adding anything additional to my hair that the shampoo didn’t.
The Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Reconstructor ultra-rich treatment infuses hair with moisture to improves hair fibers and help minimize breakage and strengthen weak strands, when used in conjunction with the full collection. The first thing I noticed about this is that it’s NOT as thick as the usual treatment mask or deep conditioners. It was very easy to work with and distribute in my hair. The slip is really amazing on this. Despite it not being a very thick consistency, it detangles like a dream and my hair feels instantly moisturized! After rinsing it, I was left with moisturized, shiny curls. A little goes a long way with this product. The tub comes with a lot of product so since you are using a small amount, it will last awhile. You can leave this in your hair for up to 15 minutes. After each use, it leaves my hair soft, tangle free and shiny. This is my absolute favorite from the line and will definitely continue to repurchased!
The Shea Moisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Collection is available at Walmart Canada.
