SHU UEMURA ART OF HAIR URBAN MOISTURE COLLECTION

non surgical hair transplant

My first experience with Shu Uemura’s haircare products was the Art of Hair Cleansing Oil Shampoo, which I really like and still use occasionally when I do shampoo my hair. I’m always trying new things in hair care – For a quick recap on my hair – I have naturally long curly fine frizz-prone hair that is dry and I also color once in a while — so it requires moisture and products to smooth out the frizz. For hair care, I wash my hair once, sometimes twice per week and I always go in with a leave-in conditioner. When it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I love trying new formulas and brands – but moisture is the biggest thing for me and of course it must smell good too. Today I want to share a haircare collection that was sent to me from Shu Uemura that works great for dry hair whether you have curly, wavy or straight hair.

The Urban Moisture Collection is for dry hair that aims to hydrate and nourish hair — as well as fight “urban aggressors.” This collection two main key ingredients are Moringa extract which hydrates and purifies and Red Micro-Algae extract which heals and protects.

Moringa extract: hydrates and purifies
Known as the “miracle tree”, it is highly concentrated in nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants and intensely hydrates deep within strands. It contains purifying properties that capture pollutants, and purify water.

Red Micro-Algae extract: heals and protects
Known for centuries for its healing properties, it is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids and fights free radicals and the damaging oxidation process. It moisturizes and stimulates the cell regeneration.

Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner (CAD $46) & (CAD $56)

I’ve tried a fair amount of brands and formulas over the past years and nothing compares to this duo for a good wash. It cleanses and leaves the hair feeling super soft and naturally shiny. This formula lathers well, moisturizes, cleans the scalp well and leaves the hair healthy. It has a very soothing soft natural scent. The shampoo has a lightweight feel that leaves the hair feeling clean and bouncy and by itself was actually pretty good to the point where I could detangled my hair slightly. I don’t use shampoos often but this one is not so bad. Add the Conditioner to the mix and my hair and scalp are left super smooth, tangle free and naturally shiny.

Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Treatment (CAD $66)

The lightweight formula enters the hair fiber to soften and smooth while protecting against future dryness. Recommended for normal to thick hair densities, the hair masque leaves dry hair tamed, detangled, and shiny with a healthy glow.

After shampooing and conditioning with the Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner, I massage this into damp hair and leave in for 15 minutes before rinsing (any longer will weigh my hair down because this is actually recommended for normal to thick hair). This concentrated treatment targets dry hair strands as it saturates the hair with moisture. It deeply moisturizes my hair and I love how it leaves my hair super soft and silky making it easy to detangle. I highly recommend the Hydro-Nourishing Deep treatment for anyone who has dry and/or frizzy hair and wants to restore their hair to a healthy and beautiful sheen.

Urban Moisture Hydro-Nourishing Double Serum (CAD $50)

For dry hair under urban aggressions.

The double-serum spray is a bi-phase serum – to activate the serum, shake the bottle. This lightweight serum has a very light moringa scent. Just a few spritzes on damp hair allowed the comb to slide through locks while it added a subtle shine and manageability to strands. It gives the ability to air dry without any frizz and my hair feels airy light and soft.

Overall I am truly enjoying this collection and love how the products make my hair feel and look. The high price tag on these are pretty steep in my opinion but if you are willing to spend x amount of $$$dollars on haircare and have dry hair, then you will love this collection especially that Hydro-Nourishing Treatment!

You can find these here.

If you have tried this line before, I am curious to know what your thought on these products are.
