As I’ve been hearing so much about Jouer Cosmetics, my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to make a little purchase at Beautylish. The two things I hear the most about are their liquid lipsticks and highlighters so I decided to try those first as my intro to the brand.
Starting with highlighter, I decided to pick up their new formula of powder highlighter in the shade Citrine, a shimmering gold. The formula feels very soft and creamy to the touch and so pigmented. I love how they provide an illuminating sheen rather than sparkle which I definitely like better as it won’t emphasize texture, fine lines or pores on my sometimes dry skin. I think the shimmer and finish is really pretty and the powder is versatile enough to use on cheeks and eyes or anywhere you want to highlight. It gives a stunning glow. The powder blends beautifully with the skin and I love how it wears. If I didn’t have so many highlighters already, I would pick up the other shades but as I love trying new highlighters from different brands, I’m content with just this one.
Finally, the Jouer Longwear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick in Tawny Rose. It’s a gorgeous matte Cool Dusty Mauve. When I was planning my order, I was truly struggling to pick just one shade to try. I initially ordered two shades but cancelled the order and only got this shade as I feared the other one would mostly likely wash me out. The entire line is beautiful but Tawny Rose looks like it would complement my skintone very nicely and it did, beautifully too. The formula is very light, and glides on effortlessly without being patchy. It dries quite quickly to a matte and pigmented finish yet with a comfortable feeling on the lips. Once it dries down, it didn’t feel at all heavy or cakey on the lips. It didn’t dry out my lips and I prefer wearing a balm underneath and it is still long-wearing and transfer proof. And did I mention it smells really yummy! I did however noticed that after eating, you need to reapply but I really don’t mind that personally.
Overall, I am really happy with my purchase and I look forward to trying more things from Jouer.
