Natural products have changed drastically since my childhood and have since come a long way. Before I met my husband 13 years ago, I don’t believe I’ve used much if anything natural. I remember thinking he was so weird….you know, using all natural products, eating all organic foods and being a vegetarian…woah, LOL. But fast-forward 13 years later, all these things have become a part of my everyday life and I couldn’t be happier to have incorporated these little changes into my daily life/routine. Don’t get me wrong, as you can see from my blog, I love all things makeup and beauty but incorporating these natural beauties into my daily routine is just another way to live green and taking care of yourself and your family, and not slathering our skin with toxic and pore-clogging chemicals. We all know a lot of companies out there are boasting “all-natural” products, and as such it has become harder to find trustworthy products you can feel good about. These natural beauties boast some awesome ingredients, without the dangerous chemicals you’ll find in most drugstore brands. Here are some of my favorite natural products that I use on the daily! All can be found at your local natural store, grocery store or online!
1. Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash: This is a gentle cleansing solution that contains natural Organic Tea Tree Oil, a natural antiseptic that cleanses without making skin feel tight or dry. It includes soothing extracts of Goldenseal, Hawaiian White Ginger (Awapuhi), and essential oil of Chamomile to help improve the texture, clarity, and radiance of your skin. I love that it is oil-based as it dissolves dirt and makeup very well. The tea tree oil penetrates into your skin and is naturally antibiotic, so it prevents break-outs.
2. Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: There are several benefits to using coconut oil. I personal love coconut oil and I incorporate it into my daily routine. Instead of body lotion, I like pure organic coconut oil. It smells amazing and make your skin glow. It is amazing for shaving and as an after shave oil, as a makeup remover, cuticle oil, DIY beauty scrubs for face/body, hair conditioner and skin problems such as acne and eczema.
3. Green Beaver Natural Toothpaste – Frosty Mint: Made with all-natural ingredients, this toothpaste keeps your teeth clean and your breath cool. It is Vegan and Biodegradable and is free from Fluoride, Gluten, Nuts, Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Triclosan. I just love that it has no artificial colours in it and bonus is I just love the mint flavor, it is so refreshing and leaves my mouth feeling clean!
4. Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal: This is an extremely gentle deodorant. Natural mineral salts work without the harmful chemicals found in conventional antiperspirants and deodorants. Stone Crystal Deodorant is made from minerals and salts that occur in nature and crystal deodorants have a hazard rating of 0 on the Environmental Working Groups Skin Deep Cosmetics Database. This is 100% pure with no harmful aluminum or parabens and has pharmaceutical grade mineral salts. I love knowing that my deodorant has no harmful aluminum in it and that it’s all natural and best of all, it keeps you clean and fresh throughout the day, it doesn’t stain clothes and is fragrance free!
5. Pure and Natural Soap: This is an all-natural glycerine soap that is hypo-allergenic, cruelty-free and biodegradable. It is a very gentle soap that is unscented with no artificial ingredients or sodium lauryl/laueth sulfate. It leaves the skin really clean without drying out the skin.
6. Ombra Dry Skin Relief: This is a cream imported from Germany that forms a protective barrier locking in moisture and therefore preventing the skin from drying and cracking. It can be use in the hair and on the skin. Although it is classified as a cream, it has more of a Vaseline texture but more natural. It contains the Calendula extract and vitamin E. No animal testing is done and the packaging is environmentally friendly.
