I should note that it is limited-edition. I had such a hard time using and swatching it and that never happens with me. Lately I’ve being all about highlighters (more reviews coming soon) and it may have to do with it being summer but I just could not pass this stunner up. I have been playing with Moodlight for several days now since I picked it up and spoiler alert, I Love it!

Tom Ford created this highlighting and illuminating powder duo to capture the two most flattering types of natural light on the skin: A soft white shade is like the luminous glow of daylight and a radiant golden shade is like the romantic illusion of candlelight. These lightly shimmering shades can be applied individually or layered together to create a multidimensional glow.

It comes in the large rectangular Tom Ford compact with the powders embossed with TF initials.

These are more of a gelée formula and the texture is very soft, smooth, creamy and blendable. The colors are truly stunning and look just gorgeous with soft shimmering finishes. They can be applied individually or layered together for multidimensional glow. It didn’t emphasize pores when I applied it, but instead it gives your skin that healthy glow. I think this is going to be a universally flattering highlighting duo for all skin tones. Both colors wore well for eight and a half hours before I noticed fading.

Moodlight (Top) is a soft, pale gold shade with a luminous satin sheen although in the pan it does appear like a white opalescent color. It is extremely finely milled and gives you a natural subtle glow. I apply this shade wherever you’d normally place highlighters, such as your cheek bones, down the bridge of your nose, forehead, and cupid’s bow, etc.

Moodlight (Bottom) is a bronze-peach rose gold shade with a metallic sheen. On my skin tone, it also translate more rose gold and a bit warm. This color is also very finely milled and when use in conjunction with the top shade, both look amazing together. The darker shade is best applied along the cheek bones for a natural healthy sun-kissed look. It blends in easily with your blusher without changing the color. Depending in your skin tone, this will also be a great blush topper.

Overall rating: 5/5

The Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo retails for US $80.00 / CAD $88.00 and is available at Holt Renfrew at Tom Ford Beauty counters, online at Nordstrom and Tom Ford.
