Chanel INFINIMENT Illuminating Powder Review

It seems to be a tradition that every year we see a new limited edition face powder from Chanel, and this year is no exception. I don’t own too many things from Chanel but when I saw this powder, it was too beautiful to pass up.

Chanel Infiniment Illuminating Powder bears the House’s signature interlocking double C logo. The linked C emblem is not embossed, it’s embedded into the powder and looks like it has been stitched or weaved into the powder. The Chanel logo is made of a pretty shimmery peachy apricot shade, while the background part of the powder is a light beige color. The powder comes in the iconic black case with its wide-flattened angled applicator brush held in a miniature velvet sleeve separate from that for the palette.

It gives a stunning illuminating finish to the face that will brighten the cheeks and highlight the face. It covers pores, blurs out imperfections and evens out the complexion. Depending on your skin tone, I would say this is more of a setting powder that adds a healthy soft radiance glow to the skin or brightens underneath the eyes because it is very subtle. This will suit all skin tones due to the universally flattering apricot shade. It is a stunner in person and it smells really good. I love how it subtly illuminates and enhances a natural complexion while giving luminosity to the skin with a natural hint of color. I do not have anything like this in my collection but from swatching and using the product, I would say the light beige is comparable to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. However, I found it difficult to use the beige color on its own because the double C logo are right in the middle so you have no choice but to mix the colors together.

It is quite exquisite. If you like very subtle types of powders, love Chanel (who doesn’t) or just love collecting these limited edition powders, then this might be worth a look. Overall rating: 5/5

Chanel Infiniment Powder retails for US $65.00 / CAD $72.00 and is available at Chanel counters nationwide.
