Hi guys, Long time don’t see. I know it’s been a few days but I have been so busy moving to a new house, plus I had no internet service so I can’t do much when it comes to blogging or commenting. I’m sure you guys know what that’s like. So NYX has expanded their Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick range around the same time that they launched their fun, new Cosmic Metals Lip Creams (review here). Compare to the Cosmic Metals, these cream liquid lipsticks are on the more wearable color spectrum while still offering some bold, trendy shades.
I was sent 12 new shades. If you remember, I did a fairly recent comparison here of the much loved Soft Spoken from this line and just like that one, the formula of the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick is pigmented and have excellent color payoff. These are a matte finish that doesn’t set completely and super comfortable to wear. They have a creamy velvety texture that glides on smoothly and not drying at all.
The new shades include:
- Run The World: Bright Violet with Pink undertones
- Brooklyn Thorn: Deep Brown with Purple undertones
- Little Denim Dress: Sky Blue
- Club Hopper: Brown with Reddish undertone (Reddish brick brown)
- Alien: Black
- Jet-Set: Deep Navy Blue with Purple undertones
- Foiled Again: Peachy Orange
- Subversive Socialite: Wine Purple
- Downtown Beauty: Walnut brown
- Oh, Put It On: Deep Purple
- Respect The Pink: Light Fuchsia with Blue undertones (Bright pink)
- Foul Mouth: Navy Black
Like I also mentioned in my review of Soft Spoken, I found this type of formula to be slightly tacky so it isn’t uncomfortable on the lips, in the sense that it isn’t drying. The NYX Cream Lipsticks claim to be a waterproof and transfer-proof formula and the application was a bit streaky so you have to go over the line a few times for a smooth, even finish. The lasting power isn’t as long either and I was able to get about five hours of wear from the formula.
My favorite shades are Brooklyn Thorn which looks surprisingly good on me and Submersive Socialite which is the more wearable vampy shade out of the bunch (at least for me).
These also have a doe-foot applicator that applies the product really nicely to the lips. All the shades in the range are really stunning although not all being everyday wearable shades. But for the price point and how comfortable they wear, these liquid cream lipsticks are a great way to rock a trendy matte lip without breaking the bank. So if you hate the feel of matte lipsticks because they’re way too drying but want the look of them, plus rock some fun trendy shades while you’re at it; then these are a fantastic option! The Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick is an amazing formula that I really enjoy.
