Okay, I’m gonna get all cliché here…but I seriously cannot believe that in only a matter of weeks, 2016 is coming to a close. This year seems to have flown by so quickly. November was a pretty good month, well because we had the Sephora VIB Sale so that is always something to get excited about. Also there was Black Friday sale (even us Canadians get to enjoy most of the deals as well) and Cyber Monday. For November, I experimented with a few new products and I am rounding up my favorites for you in this post. I hope you enjoy it and find some inspiration for new products to try! Let me know if there are any items you love and would recommend!
This concealer is much buzzed about for good reasons. I recently added it to my collection and I must admit it is a pretty good concealer. It provides beautiful coverage, looks flawless, never appears cakey or drying under my eyes and Yay, it doesn’t sink into my fine lines. While I absolutely love my Maybelline Fit Me concealer, there’s something special about this NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer that’s worth investing in. I use the shade Ginger.
Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder is a new launch that has quickly become a favorite and one of the best powders I’ve used. I use Shade #3 but #2 also works well for me too. I love how it gives a very lovely naturally glowy finish. Just beautiful and soft!
Eyeshadow Palettes
I have two eye shadows palettes that I’ve been reaching for this month – Burberry Festive Complete Eye Palette in Gold Shimmer. This little quad includes only shimmer shades, with each providing beautiful pigmentation. The tones are beautiful and is perfect for the upcoming holidays! I think it would make a perfect gift for a special someone over Christmas! And finally, the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette. I have been using this palette almost every day. I use the neutral shades in my crease. It’s a great everyday palette and the finish is smooth and pigmented, and they just about blend themselves.
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette*
This is an excellent drugstore blush palette and all the shades are beautiful. It’s just an easy palette to grab as it offers a variation of colors that is versatile to use and goes well with a wide range of looks; as well as can be worn anytime of the season. They meld beautifully with the skin and last all day on me.
This is the travel size version I got as a point perk from Sephora. I must say that this is a decent mascara. I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked for me. I love how it lengthens my lashes and gave me great separation (best thing about it for me). While it did add some volume, I don’t think it was the ‘instant full body volume’ I was hoping for, but needless to say, I really like it a lot. Love that it also doesn’t clump or flake. Really decent mascara!
Lipsticks
Two lipsticks I’ve been reaching for all month are Burberry Pink Peony Lipstick and Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice. Burberry Pink Peony is the perfect warm medium pink that adds enough colour to my lips to make them look full without becoming the focal point of my makeup. It’s a pretty color and the formula has good color payoff that feels moisturizing on the lips. It’s really easy to throw this on when I have no idea what lipstick color to wear. Maybelline Touch of Spice is a “matte” shade that is super creamy and easy to wear. This shade is a medium-dark rosy plum color with warmer undertones. I love the velvety creamy texture and how forgiving it is on the lips; not drying at all and are more comfortable to wear than many matte formulas I own.
Tresemmé BOTANIQUE Damage Recovery Conditioner
I have long curly hair, that is dry, and Oh, did I mention frizzy too; so I usually co-wash my hair once per week, twice the most. I picked up this conditioner a few weeks ago because I usually have luck with most of the Tresemmé conditioners I’ve tried in the past. This is free from parabens and dyes and infused with macadamia oil, wheat proteins and avocado – known for their strengthening powers – this conditioner also uses advanced technology to help repair and detangle while you rinse. This conditioner moisturizes my hair without weighing it down. It also leaves my hair shiny and manageable. I like it a lot (but not more than the Naturals line which I believe was discontinued caused I can’t find it anywhere) and will definitely continue to repurchase!
Now it’s your turn, what were some of your favourites this past month? And who’s getting excited for Christmas, my favorite time of the year!
