FEATURED DESIGNERS
SOLIT
The first designer is inspired by the rich tapestry of everyday life in Tokyo. With a special focus on inclusivity, the meticulously selected garments create an empowering energy through the blending of classic design elements and messaging. The models also, with their own identities and struggles, reflect embracing one’s true self and celebrating uniqueness.
This collection by Misaki Tanaka represents a cause close to her heart because, as a person with mental disabilities herself, she has been a huge advocate for those navigating our world with disabilities. Due to this, the goal of SOLIT is for everyone to feel seen, heard, and valued.
MERNINI
This St. John’s-based company released a captivating collection for penetrating the Canadian outerwear market, as the brand is born from a place defined by fog, rain, and unrelenting wind. MERNINI has made a name for itself with its special craftsmanship and focus on style and colour. Their raincoats seamlessly marry traditional aesthetics and modern detailing.
Brand founder, Maria Haifyard, launched her business in 2020 to create pieces that can both elevate and protect any outfit.
MEIHANA
For their 2024 F/W season release titled “COME AND GO,” the MEIHANA collection expresses scenery through their theme based on the image of people coming and going. In all eras, every person on the street lives with his or her own thoughts and feelings. This idea is projected through the clothing that comes equally to everyone and is one-of-a-kind.
Furthermore, the brand upcycles fabrics that have been part of Japanese life since ancient times. This pays homage to a myriad of children’s Kimono patterns that the designer has been exposed to in her life. She creates new pieces by unraveling, dyeing, and mending old fabrics, while incorporating unique patterns.
HAZIHAUS
The HAZI HAUS is proud to introduce its first women’s ready-to-wear collection. Crafted in Taiwan and designed in Canada, the “inner Child Ambrosia” showcases luxury streetwear that maintains the rawness of self-expression. By accentuating the female form with traditionally exaggerated masculine silhouettes, the designer believes this frees ourselves from the conventional boxes we are placed in and therefore embodies feminine street couture.
These outfits feature delicate materials such as high-sheen satin, gorgeous metallic fibers, and raw rugged denim.
Lexi Chang marks this as an ode to her younger self and hones in on the phenomenon of adulthood. A whimsy adolescence contrasts with a somber monochromatic palette of maturity in the clothing. The lack of colour is intentional as it depicts the sense of loss in the age of responsibility. However, in the subtle details there is colour that draws the eyes of the observe and urges them to dive deeper. The clothing and what it signifies works to encourage introspection.
AHBLO
This emblem of sustainable luxury is a local favourite, as AHBLO Knitwear crafts each creation from exclusively natural fibers to honour the seamless unity of modern feminine and mascunline elements. There is an unparalleled versatility, warmth and sophistication in every piece.
Each of the fabrics are celebrated for their incredible softness and resilience.
The “Alpaca Allure Collection” by Raquel Grebler Quesne is inspired by the West Coast’s laid-back and effortless lifestyle. It is perfect for both urban life as well as serene moments by the ocean.
They have a commitment to ethical elegance and root their garments in speaking to the wearer on a deeper personal level.
ANK BY AMRIT KAUR
The Indian label ANK BY AMRIT KAUR presents a trendy and brightly coloured travel-wear collection. Serving multi-colour aesthetics, with major use of gold and silver.
Their captivating looks include the use of mesh material and drapery.
