We all have a fail-safe brow routine and I’ve got mine. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my brows for as long as I can remember because they are by no means as naturally full as I’d like them to be. I don’t have thick brows and I can’t believe there was a time when I didn’t use any brow products. Brows not only frame the eyes, but a well-groomed pair adds instant polish to your makeup look and who doesn’t want that? Here are my favorite brow products!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
The brow wiz is an ultra-fine pencil with a spoolie on the end. It allows you to create natural looking hairs in any sparse areas and mimic brow hair. The spoolie blends the product effortlessly to give your brows a more defined, filled-in look with no gaps in your hair for a natural, polished look. For days when I want precise well shaped brows, I use this with the Anastasia brow gel.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
Anastasia makes an amazing brow gel, the only one I use. It is a clear gel for all hair colors that sets, defines, and holds brows in place all day. I love the hold of this gel because there are no crispy effect of gel brows; it just sets your brows and keep them looking perfect all day.
Benefit Gimme Brow
It is a ‘brow-volumizing fiber gel’. This brow-volumizing fibre gel tints the brows making them look fuller and more defined. I always throw this in my makeup bag because it is really nice and easy to use! It has a really good color pay-off that is very buildable. This is what I grab when I have little to no time to spare as it is a one-stop product that is water resistant, long lasting, and buildable for natural-looking brows. I did a blog post on this that you can read here.
Avon Perfect Eyebrow Kit
This is a no fuss eyebrow kit. I also use this on a day-to-day basis or on days when I can’t really be bothered or in a rush. I alternaive between this and the Gimme Brow. It fills in sparse areas and gives a polished effect which is all I set out to achieve. I like combining the wax and the powder together because I find it works best for me without much smudging. It’s super easy to use and gives a defined soft finish look.
Tip #1: To let your eyebrows really make a statement keep the rest of your makeup minimal.
Tip #2: Don’t fill in your brows harshly!!! You want your brows to be defined and visible but you don’t want to look like you’ve drawn them on with a sharpie!
Tip #3: Before you tweeze, press a warm washcloth to your brows to relax the follicles. Once you’re done, hold an ice pack to the area to help fight inflammation.
Tip #4: Visualize your brow shape before you start. The front of the brow should align with the upper bridge of your nose.
Tip #5: Fill in your brows before you pluck.
