It’s monthly favorite’s time! There are a few newbies in my collection, others are old favorites of mine. April was my birthday month, so I reached for the products I know are fail proof – we all need those to fall back on! Also, I’ve been testing a lot of products and found new favorites that are probably becoming staples in my makeup routine. Let’s get started.
For eyeshadow palette, the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con in The Dreamer has been a favorites for the past couple months now. It is a beautiful mix of warm neutrals that contains a mix of textures from “shimmery metallics, buttery mattes, and lustrous sheens.” There are golds, corals, champagnes and tan colors. The Dreamer is a warmer neutral option that is perfect for spring to summer and the colors are pigmented with a smooth buttery texture. I have a full post here if you want to know more.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer
When Hourglass launched their new ambient lighting bronzers in 2 shades, Luminous and Radiant Bronze Light, I was so excited to try them. I picked up Luminous Bronze Light and I have been loving it since I got it. It applies very smooth on my medium olive toned skin and add just the right amount of warmth and glow without being orangey. It gives the face depth and dimension without emphasizing pores. I did a blog post on this that you can read here.
Marc Jacobs Beauty #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder
I’ve been using this contour powder in Mirage Filter 40 for a little bit now. There are 3 shades that comes in a split pan with a bronzer and highlighter. The Mirage Filter 40 is a light gold/light bronze combination that pairs perfectly to provide a stunning yet natural looking contour. The powder provides just enough dimension to the face and blends to perfection. The yellow shade is perfect for setting your under eye concealer. I have a full post here if you want to know more.
*Amazing Cosmetics Concealer
I really like this concealer. It covers my dark circles and any imperfections I may have going on. It is very pigmented and opaque so you only need a small amount. I also love that it doesn’t get caked and stays all day without fading or smudging. I did a blog post on this that you can read here.
I’ve tried a few beauty oils but the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil worked the best with my skin. It hydrates nicely without being greasy and it sinks right into the skin. I could see a huge difference in my skin texture because I didn’t have the usual dry flakes around my nose and upper lips which are my problem areas and my skin felt soft and look radiant in the mornings.
For the lips, there was a new find this month that I have been loving and it is the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien, which is a rosy pinky nude color. I got the mini versions of these lip pencils for my birthday for the month of April. It is a highly pigmented pencil and has a creamy satin finish that stays on all day. It is easy to apply and it goes on so smoothly, no feathering, long lasting, and not drying. I love that it looks very natural on me.
What have you been loving this month?
