Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review1

So Benefit Roller Lash Mascara has been all the hype lately and of course, I had to try it (Mascara junkie here with short, straight lashes). I do have a couple other mascara reviews coming up but thought I would get the ball rolling on this one first. I’ve had it for a little bit now so wanted to review it for you guys.  The packaging is a very cute retro, 50’s beauty salon kinda look.  The cap is a pink rubbery ‘roller’ and the wand has a curve to it. The bristles are rubbery but short on the bottom curve than they are on the top.

This is a mascara inspired by hair rollers and has a patent-pending Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush features tiny custom-designed hooks to catch, lift, and curl even short and straight lashes. The formula contains Provitamin B5 and Serin which conditions the lashes and promises to hold your curl for up to 12 hours. On the box, it says: 97% said it visibly lifts lashes, 87% said it gives long-lasting curl and 94% said eyes look more wide open.

There’s a hook and roll concept to it. It is going to grab the lash, hook on to it and lift the lash as you apply it so it is supposed to be a curling and lifting mascara.  This has a really lightweight formula allowing you to build it up in layers. It gives length, separation and curls your lashes nicely. It dries quickly and did not get clumpy. You can get really close to the base of your lashes and the brush is small enough for the lower lash line which is perfect. Although I found it to provide great length, it did not get as volumized as I would have like but it holds despite not being waterproof.

One coat of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara applied to both eyes

Unlike the Benefit They’re Real mascara which makes my lashes stiff and is really hard to remove. This is a really awesome mascara because of the lash conditioning ingredients. I’m not one to use lash curlers and frankly I’ve never tried using one (they scare me…I always imagine pinching myself with one…OUCH!!!); but this mascara will do the job of hooks, lifts and curls without smudging and flaking and holds your lashes for a very long while (I don’t know about 12 hours because I didn’t wear it for that long).

You can find Benefit Roller Lash online at Sephora and Macys
