BITE BEAUTY just launched 22 Lip Pencils called The Lip Pencil and I was one of the lucky ones to receive the Influenster VoxBox to try two of BITE’s first-ever lip pencil. The BITE Lip Pencil is formulated to glide on smoothly, prevent feathering, and create a base for your lipsticks and glosses. The case is an artisanal wood barrel that encapsulates whipped shea butter and three times the amount of pigments for a perfectly defined line. Perfect alone or with your favorite lipsticks to mix and match – you can easily create a shade of your very own.
I was sent the shades: 020 – beige nude and 044 – rich mahogany.
Both shades are creamy and glides on easily; it doesn’t pull, tug, or drag across the lips. These are some of the softest lip pencils I have ever used. Once you apply on the lips they go on very smoothly and with full coverage as they move across the lips. The creamy coverage is lightweight and are extremely pigmented. On their own, the wear time is amazing and last anywhere from four to six hours. On their own, they do feel hydrating and comfortable. They paired beautifully with the Bite lipsticks (and I have paired them with the Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Honeycomb which is a beige nude and Whiskey, a Rich Mahogany with Red which were also received in the VoxBox, along with a Sephora sharpener) but these are such creamy and pigmented pencils that you really don’t even need to add lipstick on top of them. I prefer these were twist ups because I hate sharpening anything but I’m assuming the wood barrel is to retain the moisture of the lip pencils.
Below are swatches with the pencils around the lips and filled in. Note these are all swatched on bare lips. You can also see me wearing the lip pencil 044 paired with the Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Whiskey on my Instagram HERE.
Just like contouring, I’m not someone who wears lip pencils/lip liners on a regular basis (I’m really lazy with this extra step and I just really can’t be bothered with lining and filling in the lips — I am usually a swipe and go kind of lip person), but I’m very impressed with these and give them a big thumbs up. If you’ve ever tried BITE lipsticks then you know their lipsticks has one of the best formula out there. The two lip pencil shades I have are on the warmer side that works for my medium/olive skintone. I was worried at first when I saw both shades and thought the nude would wash me out and the darker would just be too bold for my liking but they have both worked out amazingly for me and I really love the shades though I still think the beige nude shade could have been a touch pinker. Otherwise, the formula is super creamy and the lasting power and pigment are phenomenal. The colour selection is also phenomenal and I recommend you check them out if you love lip pencils/lip liners.
The Bite Beauty Lip Pencils (US $18 / CAD $20 each for 0.05 oz/1.4 g) are available in stores and online at Sephora.
