I’ve been a long-time fan of Clarins skincare but except for a few pieces of their makeup such as their Beauty Flash Balm, Fix’ Make-Up and their Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, I haven’t tried much of their other makeup. I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to try out a couple of their quads – the 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palettes in 01 Nude and 02 Rosewood. These are not new but they are new to me. These come in a sleek reflective pale gold compact.
These gorgeous colour palettes contains four different neutral eyeshadows specifically suited for different eye colours; however, anyone can use these no matter their eye color. Each palette contains a variety of matte, satin and iridescent shades which are designed to wear dry for a soft, natural eye and wet for an intense smoky effect. However, the pigmentation is great enough that a dry application will achieve an intense look. I haven’t tried these wet.
Finish is smooth and easy to blend out, and diffuse. All the colors applied on the lids flawlessly – they have a soft texture that is very easy to layer. There weren’t much if any fall-out when I applied them and once on the lids they stay put all day long without budging (of course you need a good primer). I love that they included a satin finish brow bone highlight in each compact. The pigment is very good and textures easy to blend though I found that the shades in 02 Rosewood were much softer and more pigmented. This was also my favorite of the two as well. The texture in 01 Nude was a bit denser and firmer in the pan (but not stiff or difficult to blend out). 01 Nude is more on the peachier side while 02 Rosewood is on the plumy/mauve side. I love that these weren’t frosty or glittery. These are perfect everyday wearable colors. If you love neutral eyeshadows, these palettes are for you! They’re perfect for travel and to fit the smallest purse for on the go. I love the deep shades each palette had and the versatility of the shades as you’ve the lighter shades for day-wear and the darker shades for smokey or intense looks.
You can find these palettes online here or the The Bay and retails for $46.
Have you tried any of these Eyeshadow palettes?
