CLARINS WATER LIP STAIN

CLARINS WATER LIP STAIN

Clarins has launched four new matte Water Lip Stains described as a transfer-proof, long-wearing, moisturizing lip tint; the new Water Lip Stain comes with an exciting promise of resisting up to 300 kisses!

These are packed with conditioning benefits so you don’t have to worry about dry cracked lips when wearing these as they are comfortable. These are not sticky, tacky or drying in any way. The texture is thin and runny and I wouldn’t say these are super hydrating but they are also not drying. They are made up of organic raspberry water and organic aloe vera extract as well as Clarins Anti-Pollution complex to help protect lips from external aggressions. Composed of 77% water, its texture has the fresh effect of a sorbet and instantly fuses with the lips so you forget it’s even there.

The formula has a matte finish that’s buildable, so these stains can go from a barely there tint (very sheer) to an intensely pigmented stain. You can also choose your own level of color intensity! The more coats you apply, the deeper the color will look. You can wear it alone or in combination with any lipstick to intensify your makeup look, or with one of the Lip Comfort Oil for an ultra-glossy finish.

The stains come with a tiny dense brush but I’m not gonna lie, I’m not the biggest fan of the brush. It could be because the product itself is so thin and watery. I find that for the brush to work, you have to apply in light layers and it does a good job lining my lips so you can easily fill in the colour without any smudges but I actually prefer to use my finger to pat the product on my lips. These have a candy-like fragrance.

So I can’t vouch for the “300 kisses” part as I didn’t test that out; and while these are not long-lasting by any means, I did find that they last anywhere from 2-6 hours depending on the color intensity. I love the fresh water stain look these give the lips, especially now that it’s summer, they’re perfect as they just leave behind a nice fresh color. And if you don’t mind re-applying, you’ll really love the look and effect these give.

Clarins Water Lip Stain is now available at Clarins, Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart and Nordstrom with a price tag of $28.00.
