Clinique recently launched a new range of intense lip liners. There are currently 12 shades available. These were apparently released to compliment the Clinique Pop Lip Colours with each liner suiting two shades from the lipstick range. The new liners are a twist up propel mechanical pencil and no sharpening is required; however, the clickable applicator only allows you to dispense product, not retract it, so if you dispense too much product it could present a problem.I was sent a brown toned Quickliner to try. I actually don’t use lip liners on a regular basis, more often than not I just forget to apply prior to lipstick or I will use them the odd time but on a daily basis, I never really bother and I often skip this step. Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Intense Cola is a deep chocolate shade. It has a silky formula that glides on color and lasts all day without tugging. If you don’t use a balm and you have dry lips, then I can see this tugging or dragging on your lips; otherwise, I think it has a nice creamy texture that is quite pigmented and glides on relatively easy. It is non-drying, and prevents lipstick from feathering and bleeding. Once the liner sets, it provides a water resistant barrier, and the colour stays true. I love the longevity of this lip liner, but it was a little too firm for my liking because I had to use more pressure when applying it. Because the liner is so firm and thin, it breaks easily from impact.Clinque Quickliners Intense retails for CAD $20.00 and are available from all Clinique Counters, Sears and Sephora.
I would also like to mention again Sears Canada longstanding partner of Beauty Gives Back’s Look Good, Feel Better (LGFB), Canada’s only charitable cancer program dedicated to empowering women to manage the effects that cancer and its treatment can have on their appearance. Sears Canada hosts an annual Holiday Beauty Event where funds donated to LGFB from Sears Canada support programs for young women aged 12-18 as part of Sears support of children living with and beyond cancer.
