Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Natural Glow Foundation is a new foundation that launched with the Covergirl Summer 2015 Collection which promises all day wear and with a radiant, luminous finish. Covergirl describes it as: ‘Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation’s oil-free, non-greasy formula gives your skin a natural luminosity that lasts all day! Perfect for achieving radiant skin, this all day foundation hydrates skin while providing flawless coverage.’
My skin is combination/dry so I am always looking for that foundation that is going to give me a healthy, dewy and glowy look without being greasy. Just like the previous foundation, Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1, this also comes in a glass bottle with a pump! There are only 7 shades available, which is quite disappointing because I don’t think it caters to every skin tone out there and I also had a hard time finding the right shade. Hopefully, in time, Covergirl will release more shades. For my NC40 skin tone, I selected the shade #860 Classic Tan. The shade before this was a tad bit too light so I decided to go with this shade although it’s not a perfect match for my yellow/golden undertone but it’s workable and wearable.
This foundation formula is a thicker creamy liquid and provides light to medium coverage and leaves a beautiful luminous finish. It gives the skin a really pretty natural glow but not over the top and it didn’t feel like I was wearing anything at all on my face, which I like. There’s no SPF in this and there is no noticeable shimmer or sparkle and the formula never settles into wrinkles, fines lines, cakes or creases. I think if you have normal to dry skin or even combination, you’re going to like this a lot. If you’re on the oily side, you may want to use a powder to set. The foundation provided excellent long lasting wear, and lasted about 7 hours on me before fading. I did get some oiliness in my t-zone but that is normal for me. Also want to note that any pearlescent or illumination in the formula highlighted a bit of dry patches around my nose, which was surprising for a luminous foundation. I would not say this is hydrating at all!
I tested this with a brush, my hands, and a beauty blender. The beauty blender does sheer it out more than a brush would but it leaves a bit of a streak with the brush. It all depends on the coverage you are trying to achieve, you can use your method of application. I found that I like applying it with a damp beauty blender sponge the best. I think this is a great drugstore luminous foundation but I am just not impressed with the color selection. Overall rating: 4/5
The Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation retails for US $9.99 / CAD $12.99 (price varies) and can be found at Drugstores and online. I purchased mine at Walmart.
Nice pics!!!! I may have to try this, but based on what you wrote there is a good chance they won’t have my shade. Will check it out 🙂 Have a great day!
Thank you. Yes, the shades were limited. Like I mentioned in my post, only 7 shades available but you may get lucky. Good luck!
