DO YOU REALLY NEED SPF FOR YOUR HAIR?

SPF for your hair is now a thing! We already know that the sun’s rays damage our skin, but they can also do a number on our hair too and let’s not talk about what it does to our hair color. I know!! While SPF is not really necessary for the hair shaft because unlike our skin, hair is not comprised of living cells; but we should be protecting our scalp and strands from the rays.

My dark hair turns a light brown in the sun (ever since I was a kid), sometimes not the lovely highlights I would want. By not protecting our hair from the sun rays, there’s more chance of faded color, lack of moisture, and change in hair texture. Hair sunscreens are UV-filtering products that put a protective barrier between your hair and the rays, and protect your scalp against damage. Not only will sunscreen for your hair protect your beautiful locks from becoming brittle and dry, but some of these products will also add an extra shine and moisture. Below, I’ve put together a list of some sunscreen for your hair that’ll protect your sheen and color. Check them out if you want!
