Magnetic Face Mask? Why does that sound so weird to me? Elf launched an affordable high-tech magnetic mask last summer. Actually, they launched an entire range of skincare called their Beauty Shield Collection. The collection was designed to help protect or “shield” the skin against everyday environmental aggressors. I’ve been using a few things from the collection but today I want to share my thoughts on the Magnetic Mask Kit.
The Beauty Shield Recharging Magnetic Mask is formulated with magnetic properties and key antioxidants Carrot Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Argan Oil to help replenish the skin. The Beauty Shield Magnetic Mask Kit is a two-piece product that includes both the mask and a dual-sided magnetic tool. Together, the antioxidants clean the skin of impurities so that you’re left with a smoother, clearer complexion with refined pores. The thick gray mask is meant to resurface the skin and minimize the appearance of pores. The magnetic tool is pretty cool and unique; one side is used to apply the mask and the other side – magnetized and slowly lifts away surface impurities and the mask that it hovers over. It is really neat to watch.
The Kit includes:
Magnetic Mask, Dual-sided Magnetic Wand and 20 Magnet Wand Covers.
The holographic packaging is eye catching and the magnetic mask is a fun masking experience. The magnetic mask goes on like you would a normal face mask, but gets pulled off with the powerful magnet. So after leaving the mask on for about 10 minutes, cover the head of the magnetic tool with one of the included magnet covers. Then hover the magnetic tool just above the surface of your skin, and glide slowly to take the mask off. There’s no rinsing or cleanup required so discard cover after use. I love the fact that the mask kit comes with disposable magnet covers. The directions say to not rinse your face after, which was kind of weird to me since it leaves an oily layer behind. It’s a really cool product and the magnet works really well to take off the mask, but there were some tiny areas that left a little residue where the magnet didn’t take it off completely and I had to wipe it off with a warm cloth. That was no big deal though and after, I just massage the remaining oils from the mask into my skin which gives my complexion an added glow leaving my face feeling hydrated.
Overall, this is a good product and a great addition to my nighttime skincare routine. I have used it 3 times already and you’ll probably get 5-6 uses out of it. If you’re tired of unremovable gunk lurking beneath your pores, this mask works wonders to remove unwanted toxins and impurities from your complexion. While I haven’t seen immediate results, it was very calming to my skin. I really like how comfortable it felt on the skin and I did feel like my skin felt smoother and softer after use. It did tingle a little when I first put it on but that feeling quickly went away.
