FALL SKINCARE FAVORITES FOR DRY SKIN

FALL SKINCARE FAVORITES FOR DRY SKIN

As the weather changes my skin has been in need of an extra hydration boost. The air is dry and I can definitely feel it as my eczema on my left arm begins to flare up and it gets a little itchy when my skin is dry. My skin type is pretty much combination/dry but I do have sensitive skin as well. Today I’m rounding-up some favorite products that will help with dry skin and add that extra boost of moisture for the colder months.

FALL SKINCARE FAVORITES FOR DRY SKIN

Face Oils and Serums are something that has always been a part of my skincare routine and I cannot say just how much I’m a huge fan of facial oils in general. Of all the oils and serums I have, at the moment, these are the ones I’ve been constantly reaching for and that has made a significant difference in the appearance of my skin. Dr Roebuck’s Ultimate Hydrating Serum* is a concentrated serum with active ingredients to help boost your skin for maximum hydration. This Ultimate Hydrating Serum is infused with a powerful base, the exclusive CNYouth Molecule, a blend of carnosine, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins A, C, and E to restore and boost skin. It supports natural skin collagen production, improves the appearance of sun damage and the density of deep wrinkles, and increases skin hydration.

The thick and luxurious texture absorbs quickly into your skin for immediate hydration. It doesn’t leave any sticky residue even though it has that serum formula. It layers great under products. Application is smooth and easy to apply. Although it is thick, it glides on very smoothly, so it feels lovely, non-greasy and lightweight on the skin. It works to moisturize, protect and even your skin tone with Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and CoQ10. This is such a great booster serum that really plumps and hydrates your skin. No clogged pores either and it smells like lemons.

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Bi-Phase Serum does just what it says. It restores comfort and radiance to super-thirsty skin, instantly soothing tightness and irritations that’s great for redness, dullness and uneven texture and dryness. This is a super lightweight serum and if you’ve tried this and found it didn’t do much for you it’s probably because in most cases serums are meant to be used in conjunction with a moisturizer on top. Serums alone have a unique texture that doesn’t always work well with your makeup, but when you layer them with your moisturizer they help keep the skin balanced and hydrated. Even though this is on the lighter side, it really boosts skin’s natural hydration, leaving it soft, visibly plump, radiant, and intensely hydrated.

A newer serum to my routine that I’m still currently testing is this Clarins Double Serum*. I will not go into too much details as I will have a full review on it shortly but so far it’s a winner and exactly what my skin needs.

The Rosalena Frank & Sense Face Oil (repair, replenish) is an oil that is rich in antioxidants, beta-carotenes and bio-active extracts to hydrate, repair and nourish weather-exposed skin. A natural anti-inflammatory to calm skin, tame redness, support collagen production, inhibit melanin production and absorb free-radical damage.

This facial oil is gorgeous, and feels so silky and light on the skin. You only need about 3-4 drops; a little goes a long way. I mainly use this in the evening and it makes my skin feels soft and hydrated. Packed full of essential oils, it smells beautiful and the active ingredients really do give you great results. I am so in love with this brand. I think this might be one of the best face oils I’ve ever used.

Frank & Sense is the perfect all-rounder, but specifically aims to repair and replenish dry and sun damaged skin. Rich in colour and texture, this oil looks heavy but leaves minimal residue and delivers intense hydration. This is a great one for winter time.

The Naruko Supreme Rejuvenating Elixir Oil* is an absolutely favorite! It’s not pictured here… why? Well I’m as clumsy as they come and one night while doing the whole skincare routine, I got distracted (typically Ann-Marie) and I totally forgot that I left it open with the cap just sitting on top; so I picked it up and the more than half full bottle of liquid gold fell all over my bathroom floor. Seriously, I could have just cried… okay, not really but I was totally upset about it the whole night and even a couple days later. However, this is such an amazing oil and if you want to know how much I love it, you can check out my review here.

Finally we have moisturizers. Two great options I’ve been rotating are Lalogy The Hangover* and Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream. Both are really amazing moisturizers that hydrates, smooths, calms down irritation and rebalance skin. They are lightweight and absorb nicely into the skin. If you have very dry sensitive skin, I’d recommend Lalogy The Hangover. Lalogy is a natural skincare company based out of Los Angeles, California. I love clean beauty. This particular moisturizer uses pomegranate and seabuckthorn oils which produce a unique, bright yellow colour. It helps to even out redness and it is super high performance while still being gentle and lightweight. It immediately sinks into the skin, and provides a perfect moisture balance. The Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream is a silky cream that restores comfort and radiance to super-thirsty skin, instantly soothing tightness and irritations. It has a lovely smooth whipped texture and feels really silky as described and provides deep hydration while being lightweight all at the same time. It absorbs into the skin super-fast and really is a dream for dehydrated skin.

FALL SKINCARE FAVORITES FOR DRY SKIN

I hope you enjoyed this round-up. I think it’s important that our Fall/winter skincare regimen differs from our summer routine, especially if you live in a colder climate. These are what I’ve found worked very well for my combination/dry skin personally. Every so often I do experienced the occasional breakouts on my jaw but that is more so hormonal/stress related than anything else; and I have a bit of texture issues on some areas of my face as well as freckles and some sun/acne spots. Finding the right products that works no matter what your skin type, is very important.

Please do share in the comment below some of your favorite skincare products for the colder months and what your skin type is.
