I love dewy luminous skin. I discovered MAC Strobe Cream a while ago when my skin was acting crazy and that is the best way to described it. My skin needed a “pick me up”, something that was going to add a level of moisture and some luminosity all at the same time. Then I was flipping through a magazine and this was featured for luminous skin. Well of course, I head on over to the MAC website and ordered the travel size. I opted for the small travel size vs. the full size. The reason for this is that the travel size is $12.00 CAD (US $10.00) for 30mL whereas the full size is $40.00 CAD (US $33.00) for 50mL – much better value with the travel size! Plus, it is more portable and a great way to test out the product with a smaller commitment.
According to MAC website, Strobe Cream is “The ultimate quick fix for the skin. Super-powered with potent botanicals; de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight.”
This product is incredibly versatile, working as a moisturizer, a primer, a dewy boost to mix with foundation, and/or as a highlighter. It works well mixed into foundation before applying to add a healthy sheen to the face. I love how it just brightens up the face, so it is great to apply over your moisturizer even if you’re not wearing any makeup and this was the main reason I initially purchased it. I must also add that on days I use this, I replace it with my primer. I use this over my moisturizer and before my foundation.
Whether this is worn alone or beneath foundation, it adds a very subtle brightening sheen to the skin. It illuminates and moisturizes the skin on application, with iridescent particles giving the skin a gorgeous beautiful and healthy glow without making you look like a shimmer bomb.
It is just a wonderful moisturizer and helps foundation glide onto your skin. I have combination/dry skin and it doesn’t make me oily at all! It is fantastic to add as an extra little boost to your normal moisturizer especially in the winter months. There is also a lighter version in the liquid form but I’ve never tried that one since I personally like this one a lot because of the extra moisturizing properties. However, if you have oily skin, then maybe the lighter version may work well for you.
