The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation has been around for a while now and has been wooed and awed and raved about. I’ve been using this foundation for a bit now but don’t know why I never reviewed it. So although I am quite late and because of my love for this foundation, I just couldn’t help myself and decided to go ahead and review it anyways…hehehe.
This is a lightweight liquid foundation without sunscreen. It has a very smooth silky texture that easily glides on the skin for a natural, slightly satin matte and luminous finish. It is buildable from sheer to medium-full coverage. I consider this to be a hydrating foundation and best suited for individuals with normal to dry skin. I would not recommend Luminous Silk for oily or very oily skin because it may be too shiny after a couple hours of wear. It photographs beautifully in any lighting situation! It blends easily and beautifully into the skin and adds a gorgeous glow. It is formulated with micro-fil technology, producing a low-density product that pairs high-impact pigments with weightless texture. Two pumps will achieve light coverage and it performed really well on my combination/dry skin. I love how it gives a dewy natural youthful glow to the skin that looks smooth and flawless.
In terms of packaging, it comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump to dispense the product and a black lid that has the Giorgio Armani logo. I love the color selection; there are 23 different shades available that will suit from the fairest to the deepest of skin tones. My current shade is #6.5 and it matches perfectly; but in the winter I can use either #5.5 or #6. For reference, I am an NC40 in MAC. The foundation lasts about 8 hours on me before fading. Overall rating: 4.8/5
The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation retails for US $62.00 / CAD $66.00 and can be found at Sephora and all Giorgio Armani counters nationwide.
