Iris and Romeo Best Skin Days is the latest base I’ve tried. If you know me, I’m always looking forward to new foundation releases and I love anything glowy and natural looking.
Claims:
This 5-in-1-breakthrough formula is a serum, moisturizer, sheer coverage, sunscreen, and blue light/pollution protector. An instant skin beautifier that gives natural coverage and a dewy, glowy finish, while also protecting against UVA and UVB sunlight and oxidative stress caused from blue light.
Protection: Broad Spectrum SPF 25 UVA/UVB, blue light, and pollution.
Best Skin Days is available in 5 shades (Light, Light-Medium, Medium, Tan & Rich) which in my opinion is a limited shade range. I have the shade Medium, which pulls a little dark on me but it works for my skin right now without any adjusting needed since it’s such a light coverage base. Hopefully the brand will expand the range in the future. Its pigments are mineral based and its sunscreen comes from non-nano zinc oxide and it is packaged in a recycled frosted glass jar. I will always prefer a pump or squeeze tube when it comes to my foundations or tinted moisturizers as I find those to be most hygienic compare to a tub.
Best Skin Days has a thick bouncy texture but does not feel heavy on the skin after you apply it. I use my fingers or a dense brush for application as the coverage is more sheer; I feel that a sponge wouldn’t work as well with the formula. The coverage is on the sheer side but you can build it up to a light coverage. I can still see some sun spots and a little redness on my skin through the base but I don’t mind because again, this is not a full coverage base. The dewy glow it gives my skin is pretty remarkable. It doesn’t sit in any fine lines, bunch up, or break apart on me. It gives a perfect “no makeup” makeup look and blends in beautifully. It’s light and airy, really perfect for an everyday, not made up look. It’s dewy and soft with a nice sheer coverage. Works beautifully on my dry skin and doesn’t catch onto any dry patches. I’m really pleased with the lasting effect and the dewy radiant finish it gives. I did not need to set with a finishing powder because it soaks right into the skin but there is that option to do so.
Bottom line, I love the gorgeous radiant finish it gives my skin, and I love how nourishing and moisturizing it feels throughout the day. My skin looks and feels healthy. It is on the more expensive side at $64 USD for 1.75 oz / 50g but this is 5 products in 1 to streamline your daily routine. If you want a full coverage foundation, then this is not the product you’re looking for. It wears beautifully with and without a primer. The product is Vegan, Cruelty free and Made in the USA.
Have you tried this yet? What did you think?
