Your beach holiday this year may be a little different from normal. You may be worried about travelling out of the country. You may have even cancelled your trip or had your trip cancelled by your travel operator. People all over the world are worried about going to the shops, never mind heading out of the country on their usual beach break.
But things are changing. Shops are opening, in many places, infection rates are down, and we’re trying to adjust to a new kind of normal. One that lets us enjoy life without taking unnecessary risks. You might want to make changes to your plans, you may be keen to stick to local destinations, and you’ll certainly want to know that your accommodation has taken appropriate steps to minimise the risks and keep you safe. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a beach break. Nor does it mean that you can’t look fabulous on the beach, even if you have to put a mask on to enter shops and indoor attractions. If you are ready to head to the beach, here’s a look at some of the packing essentials that you need to look and feel fantastic.
Sunscreen
If there’s one thing that you can’t afford to skip, it’s sunscreen. You won’t look or feel great on the beach if you are bright red, blistered, and sore. Remember, it often feels cooler on the beach in the sea breeze, which can make the sun far more dangerous. Pack a good quality high SPF sunscreen, and make sure you apply every day of your break, even when there is cloud cover. Then, reapply if you go into the water or get changed.
A Derma Roller
Exfoliation is a great way to keep your skin clean and healthy. It also boosts circulation, improving skin tone, and helping you to achieve a youthful glow. This can be especially useful on a holiday when you are likely to overindulge, sweat more, and when your skin could get clogged with sunscreen and extra makeup. A derma roller to practice microneedling is easy to pack and will help to keep your skin fresh and bright, no matter what you do on holiday.
Moisturiser with Aloe
Even if you manage to avoid sunburn, your skin is bound to face a tough time with late nights, sand, salt, extra alcohol, more makeup, and more unhealthy foods. A moisturiser with aloe can help to soothe tired, sore, or sun-damaged skin. Apply all over before bed to keep yourself looking and feeling great.
Salt Spray
Who has got time for elaborate hairstyles on a break? When your hair is filled with salt and sand and is being damaged by the sun, the last thing that you want to do is use heat to straighten or curl, causing further damage. Keep things simple with loose boho braids, or tousled waves and add volume with a simple sea salt spray. Pack a few simple accessories and a band to keep your hair out of your face on the beach.
Swimwear to Boost Your Confidence
You’ll read a lot about the things that you should be doing to get the perfect beach body. But the truth is, if you’ve got a body and you put a bikini on it, you have your perfect beach body. The key ingredient to looking great in swimwear isn’t your weight, but your confidence. Find swimwear that makes you feel amazing, whether it’s a bikini or a one-piece, and rock it with confidence on the beach.
Simple Day to Night Outfits
Packing is tough. You want the perfect outfits for days on the beach and nights in the bar, but you can’t quite be sure what you are going to do. Comfort is also a priority. Keep things simple by packing cute day to night outfits that are perfect for strolls on the beach, evenings in nice restaurants, and fun nights out. Think trendy maxi dresses, sundresses with denim jackets, and loose linen trousers with a cute cami.
Accessories
Accessories are a great way to dress up bikinis, dresses, and other beach outfits. An oversized tote always looks great and gives you plenty of options. Well-fitting sunglasses, with UV protection, a wide-brimmed hat, and now those all-important masks, as well as jewellery can all help you to feel more glamorous.
We all like to look good when we’re on holiday. It helps us to feel more confident and to enjoy our break. But, looking good doesn’t have to mean losing weight, toning up, or forcing ourselves into extreme diets. It should mean taking care of yourself, dressing in things that make you feel confident, and enjoying hair, makeup, and fashion. You’ll typically look fab on the beach if you feel great. Enjoy your break!
