Since the Marc Jacobs Beauty line was released I have been a big fan of their makeup. In the past, I’ve reviewed two of their eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, foundation and contour powder and today I will be reviewing their Shameless Bold Blush in Obsessed. The packaging is of course beautiful and the blush comes in a gorgeous, sleek black high-glossy compact with a silver “Marc Jacobs” logo and push-pin opening mechanism, which is quite unique. The interior of the compact has a small mirror and comes with a miniature angled brush.Marc Jacobs Obsessed Shameless Bold Blush is a warm pink that has tones of peach in it with warm undertones and a satin finish. The formula is infused with bio-lipids and essential amino acids, which create the powder’s ultra-lightweight, silky texture and ensures a seamless application. The formula was smooth and thin, at least for this particular shade and the texture was somewhat dry and stiff but I was able to get a decent color payoff. I wouldn’t say it delivers “bold color and unprecedented vibrancy”, as it is quite sheer but buildable, and provides a lovely wash of colour making my skin looks natural and radiant. I can see how some might not enjoy the pigmentation, but for me, I really don’t mind so much as I am a bit heavy-handed and this gives me the ability to build up colour naturally. It applied somewhat unevenly and took some buffing into the skin; however, I did not noticed that it emphasize my pores. There was also not much powder kick-up. I would suggest using a stiffer brush so you’re able to pick up more product. It lasted for about six hours before starting to fade.
Overall I was quite impressed with its performance. There are nine shades available and the Shameless Bold Blushers retails for CAD $36.00 / US $30.00 at Sephora.
