Maybelline-The-Blushed-Nudes-Eyeshadow-Palette-002So I had being patiently waiting for the blushed NUDES palette to hit Canadian shelves since it was release. Last week while I was in Walmart, I head straight for the beauty department, where I found the Blushed Nudes palettes in stock. Finally it was mine…..

The Blushed Nudes palette consist of twelve shades that combines a mixture of rose gold hues, and mauved-tone taupes and looks very similar to the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. The finishes are matte, satin and shimmery/metallic shades. It has a rose gold packaging and the back of the palette is mapped out on how you can use these shades together; as quads, trios and duos. It also comes with easy to follow instructions on the back of the palette helping you achieve up to 13 custom looks. I love the rosy color scheme of the palette and reminds me of spring/summer. Also want to point out that the layout of the Canadian version is different from the US version.

Maybelline-The-Blushed-Nudes-Eyeshadow-Palette-003If you love shimmer, then you will enjoy this palette because there is only one matte shade, which is a sheer pinkish taupe, and the rest consists of shimmers and satins. A base is essential so I definitely suggest using a primer with this palette to prolong wear time. I think the shades are beautiful and have some decent pigmentation for a drugstore eyeshadow palette. While the pigmentation is okay, it could have been a bit better. It took a bit of work to build up some of the shades but they do blend out nicely, with little fall-out, and provided decent wear time. These shadows last about 7-8 hours on me.

I would say majority of the shades in this palette are fairly sheer, so if you like a softer eye look, then this is also a great little palette for the buy. However, you can also build up the colors by adding extra layers, applying with a wet brush using MAC Fix+, or using your fingers instead of a brush for better coverage and higher color intensity. Some of the shadows on the bottom row did come off and look a bit similar on the eyes and in swatching.

Overall, I do like this little palette! For a drugstore palette, these shadows are definitely really good for the price (US $9.98, CAD $10.99) and I think it’s a great buy. Canadians, you can find the blushed NUDES at Walmart and Shoppers Drugmart. Overall rating: 4/5Maybelline-The-Blushed-Nudes-Eyeshadow-Palette-004
