So I went into Sephora with a plan to get two (Adoration & Frenzy) out of the six NARS Dual-Intensity Blushes but after I saw all six of them in the store, I had a hard time narrowing my final choices down to two. Come on, who has such a hard time choosing a blush? All the colors are beautiful and I instantly felt in love with Adoration but actually couldn’t decide whether I wanted Frenzy or Fervor (felt in love at first swatch), so suffice it to say, I only walked away with Adoration and that is the one I will be reviewing today. Hey I had to contain myself, I had a budget to stick to now 🙂 I may go back for Frenzy or Fervor though.
NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Adoration (US $45.00 / CAD $52.00.) is one of six duos. Adoration (Left) is described as a Sparkling baby pink with warm undertones and (Right) is described as a Shimmering hot pink with cooler undertones. These blushers follow the same formulation as the brand’s Dual-Intensity eyeshadows, which allows for both wet and dry application. They are a gel-powder formula and the texture was smooth and silky and easy to apply and blend. These are highly pigmented and the blushes are uniquely formulated with NARS’ exclusive Translucent Prismatic Technology, which allows for multidimensional effects; each duo features two ultra-modern shades that can be worn alone or layered together for limitless looks.
The compact is sleek and luxurious like all of NARS packaging. It comes with a mirror and has a magnetic clasp to close.
The product is extremely versatile; you can use wet or dry. Apply these shades wet to achieve a high-impact flush or dry to get a natural-looking glow; perfect for spring/summer. Although I find that the wet application is much more pigmented, I do prefer the dry application to the wet, because it looks more natural on the skin and I also find that the wet application can go on and also look a bit splotchy in some places. The wear time was phenomenal and last on me a good 9+ hours.
You can blend the colours together or use them separately. I apply the darker blush shade first and then I use the lighter shade as a highlighter. Overall I am really enjoying these blushes and I just love how they blend into the skin effortlessly. Overall rating: 4.4/5
