PAT MCGRATH has come out with a collection called Skin Fetish. The iconic McGrath decided to re-launch her Skin Fetish collection with several new additions. This is the same Skin Fetish formula but dressed up, McGrath explained. Today I’ll be reviewing the Skin Fetish Highlighter Balm Duo in Golden and the Sublime Skin Highlighting Trio.
Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo (US $55)
The highlighter and balm duo is packaged in a dual-ended white-and-gold tube that makes application convenient. The creamy highlighter is meant to reflect light and provide an illuminating effect. This is a gel formula infused with ingredients like aloe and argan oils plus hyaluronic acid – which soften skin while illuminating skin for a smooth, dewy glow. I use a buffer brush or my fingertips to blend into the skin.
There are three shades available: Nude, Golden and Bronze. I have the shade Golden and Pat McGrath described the shades this way: “The Bronze, for instance, is very blingy, and the Gold is very surreal, and the Nude is more like a subliminal, virtual reality-kind of shine.” That’s what makes Skin Fetish stand apart from all the other highlighters out there — the fact that you can use the products to achieve so many different levels of shine. You can use the color separately or layer the hues together. The balm and highlighter can either be worn solo or combined depending on the level of extra dimension you’re looking to achieve. The balm can be patted over highlighters for a beautiful dewy glow, and uses it on eyelids for some shimmer. The texture is creamy and easy to swipe on the face or eyes and easy to blend. They have a semi-emollient finish which makes the color adhere well to the skin and this color is right up my alley.
Skin Fetish: Sublime Skin Highlighting Trio ($68)
Combining the best feature of powder, cream and fluid textures, this futuristic triptych brightens skin with ravishingly revolutionary results, fueling your most incandescent fantasies.
These gel-to-powder shades have a lightweight and silky smooth texture. All the colors are very pigmented, ultra-smooth and very soft. They give off an incandescent glow that looks like skin. There are no chunky glitter. In terms of application the highlights can be pretty intense but the formula is soft and easy to layer and blend. These are so versatile, with each product designed to be applied to cheekbones, centre of eyelid, brow bone, bridge of nose, cupid’s bow, shoulders and décolletage; so you’re able to mix and customize all three according to your preference to create all different levels of dewy finishes. These are iridescent shimmery highlighters not chunky glitters and looks more like skin. They look amazing either worn alone or layered, doesn’t emphasize pores, beautiful color and shimmer and last a long time on the skin. The colors are: Iridescent Pink 003, Fine Gold 003 and Bronze Nectar 003.
The Skin Fetish Highlighter + Balm Duos and Sublime Skin Highlighting Trio is now available on patmcgrath.com and June 28, 2018 at sephora.com and in select Sephora stores nationwide as part of her permanent collection.
