If you haven’t tried PIXI as a brand, then you must! It has quickly become a favorite and a must try at the drugstore. Here I talked about my love for their popular Double Cleanse. Today I am going to share a few of their nourishing lip essentials. These are what I would consider your lips, But Better!!
Mattelustre Lipstick (US $12)
There are 11 colors in the collection, but the three shades I have are Bitten Rose, Peach Blossom and Rose Naturelle. These are full-coverage, demi-matte lipsticks that is supposed to plumps and protects, while giving long lasting, intense colour! The formula includes peptides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C & E help to create fuller, smoother looking lips.
These look incredibly flattering with my skin tone and “Bitten Rose” is one of my current go-tos as I love it so much. You need this shade if you like an everyday wearable color that is simply gorgeous! Pixi describes these as “demi-matte,” but the consistency is almost balm-like with a satin finish. They are not drying at all, have coverage that is buildable and high pigmentation. I wouldn’t say they are very long-lasting but they are smooth and hydrating which is a great change from the matte liquid lipsticks. They apply super creamy and feels comfortable on the lips.
Shea Butter Lip Balm (US $8)
These are nourishing lip balms that are infused with shea butter to nourish and vitamin E to protect. They give a hint of a tint to lips. These come in 6 shades, and I own three of them; Natural Rose, Sweet Peach and Ripe Raspberry. Texture is smooth and balmy without having a greasy feel. They are easy to apply without any tugging but not so soft that they feel like they will melt or break. Once on the lips there is a noticeable balmy feel but it’s not heavy at all.
I found they stayed put very well once on the lips – no sliding around and lasting power was good until I drank or ate something. Moisture-wise they do have a moisturizing feel and they did not dry out my lips. These are great for low-maintenance when you just want lip nourishment and lip colour all in one!
Have you tried any of these yet? What did you think?
