Tis the season! It’s time to dust off your sparkly dresses and glam-up your beauty routine. To help get you in the spirit, I’ve rounded up my favorite party-ready makeup, which will be a glowing skin, festive red lipstick and soft smoky eye look. Add some shimmer and sparkle to the holidays with these favorites. Most importantly, remember to prep your face with a good cleanser and moisturizer to make your makeup last for the entire party.
• First, applying a foundation primer like Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No.01 to the face to illuminate the skin. A primer will also help smooth over any pores and lines in the face, helping your makeup to last longer.
• Then for my base, apply a medium/full coverage foundation like Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate as I want my makeup to last all day and this foundation staying power is amazing, and follow up with a concealer like Rodial Airbrush Concealer* to highlight and/or cover any discoloration not covered by your foundation. To ensure the look remains natural, avoid applying concealer too close to the lash line. Set with Laura Mercier Loose powder.
• To create some cheekbones and for a radiant finish, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow which is one of my favourites, along with the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Sex on Fire to add some warmth and colour to my skin.
• For the eyes, I decided to grab an all-time favorite eyeshadow palette which is the Urban Decay Naked2 because we will be creating a soft smoky eye look. Because I love shimmer especially this time of year, I will also use a shimmery metallic shadow like NARS Steven Klein Single Eyeshadow in Stud on the lid and the area under the lower lash line. False lashes and a thick swipe of liner will always be in style. Line the eyes with a black liner like Drawing Show Brush Eyeliner* and complete with two coats of Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. Then, I filled in my brows with the Anastasia Brow Wiz which is my favourite brow product ever.
• Finish off the look by applying Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso which is a classic bright red shade that is wearable all year long and perfect on Christmas day.
