Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean you have to switch your favorite pair of booties for sandals or stop wearing that little black dress you love. Sometimes, it’s perfectly fine to forget the rules of fashion and do your own thing. However, you might have to make a few small changes to the way you rock your favorite looks if you want to look great this summer.
Here are some of the summer fashion rules you can break with tips to help you break them with style:
Don’t Wear Black
It might be an unwritten rule of fashion that black should be avoided in summer when it’s all about pastels, but if you love wearing something dark, there’s no reason to stop because the sun has come out. Just, make sure that you lighten the black up with a little silver bling, a dash of gold or some colorful heels and you’ll be good to go.
Don’t Wear Bling at the Beach
Wearing jewelry at the beach is a big no-no for a lot of women, and it makes sense in so far that wearing expensive diamonds or pearls to a place where there’s lots of water and sand probably isn’t smart. However, wearing less expensive costume jewelry shouldn’t be a problem. If you want to look accessorize your swimsuit, choose colorful beaded bracelets or woven friendship bracelets, simple gold earrings or even a cute anklet. It’ll make you stand out from the rest of the girls on the beach this summer.
Don’t Wear Boots
Ah boots, they look fabulous, and they go with pretty much anything, it’s such a shame that we have to wave goodbye to them in the summer – or do we? There are plenty of summer outfits which would look great with boots, some of the floral maxi dresses that you can find at the online clothing boutiques, in particular, it’s just a matter of choosing the right boots to match the summer heat. Think suede rather than leather and booties rather than knee high boots and you won’t be too far off the mark. Boots are best worn at night, but if you want to rock the boho look all summer long, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t wear them in the daytime too.
Don’t Wear Leather Jackets
A lot of people think that wearing a leather jacket in the summer makes them look silly. After all, leather can make you feel very hot very quickly, especially when the sun is shining. But, if you love leather jackets and you want to wear one all year round, you’re in luck because a pastel leather jacket is the perfect cover-up for a breezy summer evening at the beach bar.
Don’t Wear Your Bikini Anywhere but the Beach
The bikinis online at Paper Sails may be made for swimming in the sea or replacing poolside, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only place you should wear it. If you’re the bold type, there’s no reason why you can’t wear your bikini top with a pair of denim shorts and, in fact, you’ll be pretty on trend if you do.
Which summer style rules do you always break?
