Today I have a quick review on a new clay facial mask I’ve been using and I wanted to share my impression/thoughts on it. Skincare is something that I obsess over as I am constantly looking for new products to improve my skin so when TruSelf Organics sent me their popular clay mask to try, I was excited to give it a whirl! TruSelf is all about natural beauty than covering up your skin and I love their #loveyourself campaign.
This Detoxifying mask (US $24.95) claims to clear, tone, and detoxify your skin naturally and the unique and powerful detoxifying mixture of organic clays work to restore blemish-prone skin and bring back that beautiful glow! The Key Benefits noted are:
- Minimizes Pores
- Reduces Scars and Discoloration
- Acne-Fighting Ingredients
- Formulated for all Skin Types (Both Women and Men)
- Prevents and Diminishes Wrinkles
I have combination/dry skin that occasionally gets one to two blemishes with a bit of old acne scarring so I was also excited to try this when I read the key benefits of using this product…sounds amazing right!! What is also great about this mask is that it is formulated from the purest ingredients and has no Parabens, Petroleum, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Phthalates or Artificial Dyes or Synthetic Fragrances in it; quite amazing because you’re assured that there are “no bad stuff” getting into your skin/pores.
The mask is a powder and what you do is combine equal parts Detoxifying Mask powder and purified water or Detoxifying Solution. Mix solution together to form a thin, paste-like consistency and then once the mixture is smooth, smear all over your face! Let it dry 10-30 minutes and rinse off with warm water. If you have sensitive skin, it is recommended to leave on for a shorter amount of time.
This face mask has a lovely clay texture and applied very easily. For me, there was no stinging sensation nor did I experience any irritation from using it. While the mask was drying, I could feel my skin tightened and the mask hardened, but don’t worry…the mask is pulling toxins out of your skin. After about 10-15 minutes, I usually rinse it off with warm water and pat my face dry. My face definitely felt smoother and although I don’t have a problem with pores, the little I do have, actually looks even smaller. Keep in mind that everyone skin type is different and skin results take time and patience. So far I’ve been really happy with my experience with this mask and it is a great mask! Although I can’t speak to it preventing and diminishes wrinkles, it has certainly tone and detoxify my skin while making it look brighter and smoother.
