Visibly Brighter Hair with John Frieda
I recently received my first Voxbox from Influenster with a few products from John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter collection. This line is specialized specifically for brunettes and is meant to gradually brighten your hair, illuminating glowing tones giving your hair that sun-kissed back-from-vacation glow in one wash and it only takes a few minutes.
John Frieda hair products have been around for as long as I can remember and in the past, I’ve tried their Frizz Ease Serum. I don’t colour my hair often, only once a year at the salon (I usually go a bit lighter…nothing drastic though) and the odd times, I do it at home so honestly I don’t pay much attention to “colour protecting” products. I’m also very basic when it comes to my naturally curly hair; I just basically co-wash and go. Since last summer I’ve kept my natural hair color which is a dark brown/black but we know that over time, hair colour will begin to fade, which means more trips to the salon, but you can instantly lighten up to one shade with the NEW Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Brighter™ Shampoo, Conditioner and In-Shower Treatment.
Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter In-Shower Lightening Treatment
The in-shower treatment is designed to instantly lighten up your hair in 1 wash for a natural-looking sun-kissed brunette and illuminate glowing tones, and what is great is that it lightens only your natural brunette spectrum, so hair won’t appear bleached or orange making it safe for both natural and colour-treated brunettes. When I get in the shower, I applied the product and let it sit for a while. After the allotted time, I washed and conditioned as usual with the Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter Shampoo and Conditioner, which is also safe for natural, highlighted, and colour-treated brunette hair.
Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter Subtle Lightening Shampoo/Conditioner
This shampoo/conditioner gradually brightens and give your brunette hair a natural-looking, illuminating glow. Both formulated with honey and marigold flower extract, the Lightening Shampoo cleanses and gradually infuses golden tones to illuminate the spectrum of your brunette colour, while the conditioner hydrates your hair. With continuous use of both products, your hair will look brighter over time. The shampoo did a good job at cleansing my hair while the conditioner hydrates my hair leaving it soft and smooth.
Overall, I do like the John Frieda Visibly Brighter collection and will continue to use it. I like the fact that I can lighten up my hair in the shower as part of my normal hair washing routine, so if you want something that is low maintenance and not too drastic, then this will give you a subtle difference in the color and tone of your hair. I am no expert on hair, but I probably would only recommend these products to people with highlights because I had to use the products about 2-3 times to actually noticed a difference in my hair and that could be because of the fact that my hair is a bit darker now but it would probably make a bigger difference if I had highlights are my hair was a bit lighter. Also, I do think that the In-Shower Lightening Treatment may have the ability to cause your hair to get dry with continuous use. As I personally have dry frizzy curly hair, it is something I would not use on a regular basis but will definitely continue using the shampoo/conditioner. Here is a very recent pic of me after using the shampoo/conditioner about 2 days prior. You can definitely see some subtle light tones.
Have you tried the Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter line? What do you think of this hair care line?
