Winter Tips for Curly Frizzy Hair

Winter seems to be a very challenging season for curly hair. The cold weather, along with indoor heating, can wreak havoc on curls, leaving them parched and brittle. However, how you care for your hair and the products you use can make a big difference.

Curls need moisture, so it is essential that curly hair girls stick to a strict deep-conditioning regimen. At least once per week, curly girls should be using a hair mask for intense moisture – something that will infuse moisture into the hair and seals the cuticle for shine.

Fight frizz in the shower – If you are going to be using shampoos, make sure your products are paraben, sulfate, and silicone free as these shampoos are very gentle on curly hair because they are specially formulated to trap moisture into the hair using plant botanicals and replenish moisture.

Just like your skin and lips dry out in the dry winter weather, so does our hair so keeping it moisturized is a must! Use something that will keep hair soft & silky.

Try and avoid the heat as much as you can. Try air drying a bit more as over use of any heating tools can make your hair a lot more fizzy and unruly, especially in winter when the wind is dry.

Try using a serum on wet hair as it conditions hair more effectively. Using hot oils also works great to help soften the hair and making detangling easier to accomplish, which helps to control frizz.

Cover up your hair as much as you can because the dry and cold air can make your hair fizzy.

Keep hydrated. Not because it is not hot outside, doesn’t mean our bodies does not need some extra water intake during the winter months.

And there you have it folks! 
