I’ve been hearing how amazing this Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ÉCLAT Radiant Touch is as a concealer and highlighter and how it really brightens up the under-eye by hiding dark circles, cover blemishes and add radiance to your complexion. I don’t have problems with very dark circles (thank the heavens) but if I don’t get a good night sleep, I’m sure to wake up with puffy eyes. And yeah, I do have some blemishes that needs covering from time to time. Now this is not a new product but I was excited to get the opportunity to try this little number since I’ve had my eye on it for some time now.
Described as a “luminizing pen that brings light and radiance to the skin, immediately erases any signs of fatigue, and brightens the complexion.” This comes in 11 shades and I have shade 2 Luminous Ivory. First of all, this is way too light for my medium olive complexion but I will talk about how I use it to make the shade work for me. I’m sure everyone is already familiar with the packaging which is a sleek gold pen form that clicks to push the product into a brush applicator. I like the easy application and think it prevents wasting the product.
The formula has a thin creamy consistency and it blends and sinks into the skin quickly. It goes on smoothly and sheer and feels very lightweight. Now, I know a lot of females swear by this but this didn’t do much to cover any of my dark circles from lack of sleep but it does a decent job of brightening and highlighting the under-eye as well as areas of the face. If you like that really brightening effect under the eyes, then I think it may work really well for you but if you’re looking for something that’s full coverage this isn’t it. This is definitely not the concealer you would want for coverage, but it doesn’t crease and settles into my fine lines so that’s a plus. If you want something that will make you look like you’ve actually been sleeping then I suggest you just purchased a really great concealer and highlighter combo. There is no shimmer in this but it does have a sheen to it.
It’s a lovely product that isn’t drying and if I’m going for a slightly brightening effect under the eyes, I use this after my concealer because as mentioned, it doesn’t nothing to cover dark circles under the eyes by itself. To apply, I swipe a streak under each eye and blend with my finger. I think if I had a darker shade with the same undertone as shade 2, I would enjoy it a lot more than I do right now because shade 2 is for fair to light complexions with yellow undertones. It’s also great to slip in your makeup bag for quick touch-ups anytime. This is quite a pricey number retailing for CAD $50.00 / US $42.00 here. If you want a luxurious product, then go ahead and purchase, but there are also similar products out there that is more affordable.
Have you used YSL Touche Eclat before? Does it work well for you, and how do you use it, as a concealer, highlighter or both?
