Today I have a review on a couple lips products from a new brand that just launched in December 2016 – Runway Rogue.

Runway Rogue is a new cosmetic brand founded by 90’s supermodel Patricia Hartmann. Patricia was a familiar face on the Runways of Paris, New York and Milan, walking for the fashion world’s top designers -Versace, Valentino, YSL, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta and many more. Patricia was the featured cover girl and appeared in Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Allure, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, among many others. Personally designing the products and selecting their beneficial ingredients, each product and each color has a unique story inspired by Patricia’s modeling career walking the runways of Paris, New York and Milan with the other top models of the original “Supermodel” era. Patricia Hartmann, launches Runway Rogue with a carefully crafted limited edition collection of creamy lipstick bullets (in matte and satin finishes), rich glosses and extreme long wear pencils. The textures range from matte to satin to glossy. The colors include brights, bolds and sheers.

All lipsticks and lip glosses are paraben-free, talc-free, sulfate-free, gluten-free and use only non-comedogenic ingredients. The formulas contain hydrating oils (Jojoba, Safflower) and extracts (Green and White Tea, Chamomile), as well as Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to keep lips supple and soft. All products are cruelty free.

I was sent the lipstick shade in Stilettos, a bright red with coral undertones with a satin finish (it looks more like an orange-red on my pigmented lips); plus the lip gloss in Perfect Pout which is a super sheer natural red.

The pigment in the lipstick is good but you need to do a few swipes to get opaque coverage. The texture is smooth and it has a nice medium coverage without feeling thick or heavy although it is not necessarily weightless. It feels hydrating (I do not need to use a balm underneath) and did not dry out my lips and felt comfortable once on. Lasting power is pretty good and it stayed put for a long time without fading as long as you don’t touch your lips or eat. I could not detect any noticeable scent from the lipstick and it comes in a silver tube with a magnetic closure and has a good weight to it.

As for the lip gloss, this is a very sheer gloss but it still shows up on my lips with no visible shimmers. I think this will be better layered over lipsticks if you want a more visible gloss look. The finish is ultra-glossy but not too wet looking. Lasting power is average. It adheres well to the lips but won’t last the entire day without touch-ups. It feels really nice and super comfortable on the lips and the consistency makes it so that it stays put on the lips. It has a nice moisturizing feel that isn’t sticky. You can layer for more color but overall finish is still sheer. This particular shade is smooth and not patchy on the lips and it layers beautiful over the lipstick above. The gloss has a slightly sweet fruity scent that is barely detectable but it’s pleasant and fades after a few seconds. These come in a sleek silver tube with a clear window stripe in the center so you can tell what colors they are; and has a sponge-tip applicator.

Now as a neutral lip lover, these two shades are well outside my comfort zone because I personally do not like wearing red or orange lipsticks or glosses, same goes for bright pinks/cool-toned pinks that often clash with my yellow/olive skin undertone; but I’ve been really pleased and happy with the formula.

Are these something I will be reaching for on a regular basis; only the gloss because it’s so sheer that I can get away with wearing it by itself without it looking red or orange on me and I can also layer it over other lipsticks. If the lipstick was a more neutral everyday shade, then it would for sure be in my weekly makeup rotation because I really like the formula and feel on my lips.

The lipsticks retails for US $21 and the lip glosses for US $19.00 and you can find them here.

Have you heard of this brand as yet?
