Anyone with dry or dehydrated skin know that it can look dull and grey and while we should be using a proper skincare routine, illuminating primers assist in giving the skin a radiant appearance. I love flawless dewy skin and illuminating primers are bases that have tiny light reflecting particles in them giving the skin a natural looking, dewy glow. Here are a list of some illuminating primers that are both versatile and luminous…

MAC Strobe Cream – This is a white cream with a purple and pink iridescent sheen that gives a nice subtle pearly glow. I love that this is also very moisturizing and works great on drier skin. I did a review that you can read here.

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer – This is a pearly white color primer with a light luminous sheen that can be applied as a primer to boost radiance as well as prolong foundation wear. This provides a smooth and even-textured for your foundation or it can be used as a liquid highlighter to gives the skin a healthy glow. I did a review that you can read here.

Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer – A silky pink primer that makes skin appear smoother and brighter. This can be worn alone for clear complexion radiance or apply before makeup for a smooth, effortless application. I love this because it gives my face a brighter and more flawless look.

Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer – This is marketed as an illuminizer but I also use it as an illuminating primer. This is a radiance liquid for the face to capture and reflect light. It is perfect for smoothing over skin and creating a soft-focus finish for a bright healthy glow. The shimmer is incredibly fine so it never looks glittery and shiny on skin. Use this alone on the face, or mix with foundation, moisturizer, or oil for a lit-from-within glow. I did a review that you can read here.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator – This is a dual primer and highlighter that can be worn underneath or mixed into foundation or placed along the high points of the face to add an extra glow to your face. Adding a couple drops into matte foundation can provide a soft glow. This is fairly new to my makeup collection and I have been enjoying it because it leaves a nice glow. I did a review that you can read here.

Maybelline Blur + Illuminate Primer – This has a creamy consistency with a pink color. It is shimmery on the skin alone but after applying your foundation and/or BB cream on top, it provides a natural glow and provides longevity for my makeup. I did a review that you can read here.
