NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Earthshine

NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Earthshine

NARS has just released a few new products for Fall 2016, which are not part of their Fall 2016 Collection. They are the Sculpting Duos and Hardwired Eyeshadows. I was tempted to pick up the sculpting duo and even had one in my Sephora cart but decided to pass on it and opted for the Dior Light & Contour Sculpting Stick Duo instead which I will have a review on shortly. The collection of NARS Hardwired Eyeshadows include six limited edition shades, with two shades released previously as I have one of those shades, Stud (review + swatches here). I’m not one to purchase the whole collection of anything and I always pick up what appeals to me the most and what I know I will wear. That being said, I only picked up the eyeshadow shade ‘Earthshine’ from the collection.

NARS describes this formula as “high-pigment with high-shine color payoff with metallic shine”. These are pressed eyeshadows with blends of shimmer, glitter, high metallic shine and reflective sparkle.

The packaging is the same as a regular single eyeshadow from NARS with its black rubbery case with white print. Inside the compact you will find a small mirror.

Earthshine is a very unique shade and is an iridescent pink lilac with warm undertones. In comparison to Stud, the texture of Earthshine is a little different. The texture on Stud is a little finer compare to Earthshine which is also very smooth, but has a little more glitter in it and also has more sparkly and metallic. The shade was semi-opaque and blends really well on the skin. You’ll get a more opaque pigment and sheen if you apply them slightly wet and they’re meant for layering to add intensity. Although there was some fallout (not too much), I didn’t have any creasing with this shade but I did wear an eyeshadow primer and the shade wore well and faded after about 8 hours.

You can purchase NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow Collection on the NARS website and Sephora; it retails for USD $25.00 / CAD $31.00 and the collection is limited edition.

So what shades, if any, have you picked up from the collection?

xo ❤
