Color your way to the perfect glow with this blush palette. The NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette (CAN $29.99 / US $20.00) contains 8 beautiful blush shades that has a good mix of cool and warm shades with matte and shimmer finishes to give you a lot of options. There are 2 shimmery finishes and 6 matte/satin finishes. For any blush lover, you will love this palette.
I love the shade hues as you get a variety of colours – There’s a pretty golden shade, a coral shade, then you get your mauve’s, oranges, pinks and berry tones plus a nice nude/terracotta shade as well and they are quite decent-sized pans. I’ve been testing the NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette for the past few weeks and am really pleased with it. The colors layer nicely and application is smooth.
This comes in a black plastic compact. The packaging is very sturdy and well-made plus it is very travel friendly; but I do wish it had included a mirror in it. The colors have medium but buildable pigment and the texture is very soft and smooth. There is a bit of powder kick-up when I dip my brush into the powders but it’s easy to clean up and once the product is on the face there isn’t any fall out. I love this palette because it’s so versatile and goes well with a wide range of looks as well as can be worn anytime of the season.
The top row offers hues that are on the warmer side while the bottom row is more suitable for cooler complexions. A couple of the shades, like the first two top shades to your left can be doubled as a highlighter depending on your skin tone. If you’re like me, you can also mix the shades to create completely new looks or even layer them with one another. Additionally, this palette can also be used as an eyeshadow palette and I’ve been enjoying using that first pinkish/peach shimmery shade all over my lids. The fifth one, which is that berry shade was the patchiness of the bunch. Many may think the price point is a bit high for a drugstore item, but if you think about it, it is actually very reasonable considering you are getting 8 decent-sized pans.
Also included in the PR package were these two NYX brushes which are meant to be used with the palette. The NYX Pro Dual Fiber Powder Brush #08 ($14.00) is a unique, dual fiber brush perfect for applying blush or powder for a flawless finish and it’s made with natural & synthetic fibers. The NYX Pro Blending Brush #16 ($10.00) is a long, rounded synthetic fiber brush that is perfect for effortlessly blending and is such a great crease brush. Both brushes are really good quality and application with these were very easy.
