Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario

I continue to discover Anastasia Beverly Hills as she launches a few new products that has caught my eye. I picked up a couple of these pieces from Sephora and will be reviewing one today. I will have a review on the other – the new liquid lipstick in Allison early next week.

Today I’m going to be sharing the Master Palette by Mario. This is a collaboration between Anastasia and makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. This is my second eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I previously purchased the Self-Made palette (review here, if you’re interested). I love buying eyeshadow palettes where I know I’m going to use all of the shades or at least most of them otherwise, what’s the point in me spending my money and not wearing the shades, just because it looks pretty? I don’t think so!!!. However, not so with this palette. The packaging is cardboard and when you flip it open, there is a mirror in there but it does not prop itself up. There’s a double-ended brush included that is new and is exclusive to this palette – one end has the standard fluffy side which is a bit scratchy and the other end is a flat shader but this part is nice and softer. The brush is very handy and I like that it is included in the palette.

The shades in this Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario are:

  • Hollywood (metallic wheat gold with a satin finish)
  • NYC (rich chocolate brown with a satin finish)
  • Kim (tan with a satin finish)
  • Muse (rose gold with a satin finish)
  • Marina (champagne with a metallic finish)
  • Claudia (slate with a velvet finish)
  • Lula (soft taupe with an ultra-matte finish)
  • Isabel (burnt orange with an ultra-matte finish)
  • Violeta (dark chocolate with an ultra-matte finish)
  • 5th Ave (gold leaf with a metallic finish)
  • Bronx (metallic olive with a satin finish)
  • Paris (gilded brown with a satin finish)

The formula of these shadows are really soft (almost like a cream formula), very buttery and very pigmented and they blend like a dream. They are also easy to layer. Because the texture is soft, there is some fallout when applying on the eyes so I advised to tap off the excess powder from your brush first. The shadows glides on easily with only one brush stroke. I have used this palette for the past 2 weeks and I have used every shade in here. There are 3 mattes in this palette which are Lula, Isabel and Violeta and everything else is either shimmer or metallic finishes. I love shimmer shades so I have no complaint that there aren’t more mattes in this palette. The only thing I would say I wish was in this palette was a matte highlight shade but it’s not a deal breaker. I’m sure many of us have a matte palette laying around in our collection so if you feel that there is a lack of matte shadows and you don’t mind pulling it out to incorporate with your eye look, then this palette is a winner. Another thing about the palette is that some of the shadows once blended out can look similar.

This is basically the perfect Fall eyeshadow palette. The colors are really beautiful and it’s a great neutral, very earthy palette with tiny pops of jewel tone colors. The colors are right in line with fall’s rich, pigmented earth tones. The eyeshadows lasted about 8 hours on me, at least that’s how long I’ve worn them for. I had no problems with fading or creasing. Each eyeshadow is 0.02 oz., and the palette retails for CAD $59 / US $45. I know that the Modern Renaissance palette retails for CAD $55 / US $42 and includes 14 eyeshadows (0.02 oz), while this one includes 12. Not sure what the reasoning behind the price difference, could be the collaboration?? However, I totally recommend this palette or at least go check it out and swatch away, you will be impressed!!

What do you guys think of this palette?

xo ❤
