HIGHLIGHTERS FOR THE PERFECT GLOW
You all know how much I love highlighters. I like to wear a highlighter all year round, with a natural look or an evening look, I always like to add a little glow. I have highlighters to last me a life time and I know I don’t need to ever buy another one since I probably will never hit pan on any of them but somehow I still continue to. I can’t help it; it’s a weakness – they’re just so darn pretty.
Highlighter is the perfect way to add radiance to your complexion and enhance the natural structure of your face with just a little added light. And though the strobing trend has died down (thank God), I still like to glow a little. And while there are certainly more than seven highlighters I would recommend, these are some of the ones I’ve been reaching for a lot lately and some of the ones I always go back to. So here’s a rounded up of some of the best glow-enhancing highlighters…
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder in Soft & Gentle
This is one of my all-time favorite highlighter. It is a gorgeous, stunning, golden champagne highlighter that gives an incredible sheen to the skin whilst somehow not looking glittery.
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal
This powder is incredibly soft, almost creamy, and finely-milled with a smooth but not powdery feel. The powder blends very nicely to the skin and doesn’t emphasize pores and it gives a beautiful luminous finish that reflects light.
Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Smokin’ Whistles
A newer one in my collection, this is a cool-toned pink champagne with silver highlights. It had amazing color and the gel-cream formula goes on sheer, but it can be built up to a wet-look finish that looks stunning.
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Brilliant
Giving the skin a flawless soft-focus finish, Hourglass’s Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder is designed to mimic the effect of being cast in the most flattering light imaginable. The ultra-fine micro pearl particles practically melt into the skin. Brilliant Strobe Light brightens my olive skintone with a gorgeous candlelight glow.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter in Sun Dipped
These are high shimmer highlighting powders that are very pigmented but are easy to blend for a diffused look. Mix and match the shades in this illuminating quad to create your perfect glimmer. It’s a must-have for the highlighter fanatic.
Marc Jacob Glow Stick in Spotlight
This makes your skin look perfectly sheeny, without veering into the oily territory. It melts into the skin and adds a sheer, dewy glow to the skin. This highlighter incorporates both gold and silver pigments to produce a looks-good-on-everyone sheen. Simply swipe on the skin and blend for a natural-looking glow.
Tom Ford Shimmer Shot in Spin Spin Sugar
Also new to my collection, Spin Spin Sugar is a champagne color with a slight gold sheen and it’s amazing! This liquid highlighter will literally make you look candlelit, all the time. It gives your skin a natural glow and makes your skin look radiant. It leaves a nice sheen rather than a shimmer and a little goes a very long way.
See any of your favorites here? Which highlighter would you pick? I’d love to know what your favourite highlighter is.
