A couple weekends ago I stopped by Sephora and picked up the new Marc Jacobs Dew You Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter. I already own the Spotlight Glow Stick which I love, and though different, the swatch of this Dew You? was enough for me to purchase it; plus lately I’ve really been enjoying using a lot more liquid and cream highlighters over powders.

Inspired by Marc Jacobs’s love of coconut water and the glow of youthful, radiant, well-hydrated skin, this luminous gel-cream instantly lights up the complexion. Five forms of coconut and Provitamin B5 help hydrate and nourish skin.

Dew You? Dew Drops is a beautiful warm golden peach highlighter that has a beautiful gel-cream formula. The shimmer was fine enough that it didn’t look metallic when sheered out, and it gives the skin a very soft luminous glow without the frost or shine. Pigmentation was sheer to opaque, and I think buildable as well by adding additional layers when dry for the ultimate sheen. The texture is smooth and creamy, goes on even and not sticky at all. You can use it mixed in with foundations or primers to add a nice luminosity or highlight skin directly. A little goes a long way and I actually found one pump to be too much product for my cheek bones, cupid’s bow, nose and chin. I also used about half a pump mixed in my foundation – you can probably use a pump as well depending on how luminous you want to look. There was a very subtle coconut scent to it, but the smell of coconut is not as prominent in this product. For application, I use a beauty sponge or my fingers to tap the product into the skin.

You can likely find dupes in your beauty stash from other powder highlighters but if you fancy the gel texture of this, then for sure, go for it! The packaging of course is gorgeous and it has very high quality ingredients. In terms of cream or liquid highlighters, the Tom Ford Shimmer Shot is still my favorite for adding a nice visible but natural glow to the face. I think the Marc Jacobs Dew You? Dew Drops performs very very well – it is great for mixing in with foundation/primer or adding a luminous glow to the cheeks in a very natural way. It blended quite easily on bare skin, in and over liquid foundation; plus lasting power is pretty good for a liquid.

What’s your favorite liquid highlighter?
