Fresh has extended their Lip Treatment line to include a few new shades and releases. I’ve been a long-time fan of their Lip and Skincare and have been using their products for a few years now. Their lip treatments are some of the best I’ve used and all have a blend of oils, including meadowfoam and black currant seed oils, avocado, and grapeseed oil to help maintain hydration levels and are rich in antioxidants known to protect from damaging free radicals. Some might find these a little pricey but they feel so amazing on the lips it’s well worth it!
A couple weeks ago I received a lovely package from fresh filled with some of the brand’s newest releases and bestsellers, including lip treatments in assorted shades. I had tried some of these before, but others were completely new to me, so I thought I’d share them with you guys today!
SUGAR Lip Treatments ($29)
Cream Lip Treatment in PEARL & PINK: These are a creamy version of their popular Lip Balm. These come in a squeeze-tube applicator. I have the shades Pearl – sheer pearly shimmer (New) and Pink – pretty pink shimmer. These have a deeply moisturizing formula, and although they look and feel like a gloss, they really still are an effective lip treatment. These cream lip treatments are enriched with sugar, a natural humectant, antioxidant-rich vitamins E and C, and a moisturizing blend of oils that softens lips with hydration. You do get a good amount of pigment on the lips especially from the pink shade with a pretty iridescence on your lips. They have a non-sticky texture that leaves lips looking, and feeling wonderful. They aren’t particularly long-lasting, but for a lip treatment/cosmetics hybrid balm, I really enjoyed them.
CANDY Lip Treatment SPF15 (New): is a happy bright pink tint. I’ve had several Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments in the mini sizes over the years. Color and pigment is sheer and glossy but you can layer it for more coverage. The color adheres well to the lips and I love that this has SPF 15. This feel wonderful and lush on my lips and hydrate well.
ADVANCED THERAPY Lip Treatment ($32): I’ve been a long-time fan of the original (in the brown tube) but have never tried the advanced version and I found both to be very similar. Like the original, this is un-tinted and leave lips feeling hydrated and smooth. This lip treatment is fortified with sea fennel to help smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles and define the lip area, while antioxidant-rich orange extract helps protect the lips. It feels great on and deeply nourishes the lips.
SUGAR Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm (New)
This comes in a tiny narrow jar and has a smooth consistency. I did not find this to be sticky or oily on the lips. Initially when I saw the color I thought it would give the lips a brown tint; however it goes on completely clear and has a slightly glossy finish. Sugar Lip Caramel Hydrating Balm locks in moisture and smoothes and comforts the lips on contact. It was inspired by glazed caramel. Sadly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this one, not sure if it’s the smell or the fact that I had to dip my fingers in it but my 8 year was all over it!
SUGAR Lip Treatment Perfecting Wand ($29)
This is a great multitasking lip treatment that gently buffs and nourishes to smooth and soften. This has a gel texture that feels emollient on the lips and it is not sticky or greasy. The wand tip has little plastic bristles on the top and at first I didn’t like the feel on my lips but as I used it more, I have quite come to enjoy it. I use it for very gentle exfoliation to keep my lips smooth and it is great for circulating the blood to the surface. This applicator isn’t going to effectively exfoliate the dry cells off your lips, I think a lip scrub will do a better job but it will very gentle exfoliate and massage the lips. I always wash or wipe the tip off with a makeup wipe each time I use it, and I have not had any trouble with it developing an odor as I keep it sanitized at all times.
