Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette For Eyes & Cheeks Review & Swatches

This is a limited-edition eye and face color palette by Laura Mercier. It includes 8 Eye shadows in Vanilla Nuts, Stone Taupe, Pewter, Deep Night, Topaz, Morning Dew, Cashmere, Crystal Beige and a Cheek color in Rose Gold Shimmer. While I do prefer warmer tone shadows because of my NC40 skin tone, I could not resist this one which leans more on the cool-toned side. Because this is cool-toned, it would be more suitable for fair skin tones; however, the blush/highlighter shade would work better for deeper skin tones because it is extremely warm toned. That combination doesn’t really make for a flattering look. However, it is a neutral palette that is great for natural makeup with a bit of shimmer.

The packaging is sleek, easy to open with a nice large mirror. Most of the shades are really powdery. It is a very neutral palette with an extremely natural finish. If you are looking for colors that are highly pigmented, this is not it. The eye shadow colors as well as the blush color lasted about 7-8 hours on me before fading a bit. Vanilla Nuts and Morning Dew are really close in color. Once applied to the lids you can’t really see a difference between them. It would have been nice if they could have substituted one of them to give more variety to the palette. Vanilla Nuts, Morning Dew, and Cashmere are all slightly ashy. The blush applies very soft, sheer and luminous and is a very light Rose Gold, no glimmer or shimmer.  Just soft and nice.  I really like it.

Vanilla Nuts is a warm ivory beige color with a matte finish.
Stone Taupe is a medium- dark brown taupe color with a matte finish
Pewter is a warm grey greenish color with some brown tones with a satin finish.
Deep Night is a darkish black-navy blue color with a matte finish.
Topaz is a cool brown taupe color and a hint of gray with a shimmer finish.
Morning Dew is a cool ivory beige color with a matte finish.
Cashmere is a warmish rosy mauve color with a matte finish.
Crystal Beige is a warm rosy bronze brown color with a shimmer finish.

RoseGold Shimmer is a medium gold blush/highlighter with orange-brown tones and a golden shimmer-sheen finish. The Rose Gold Shimmer gave a beautiful luminous sheen to the cheeks and on my olive skin tone; it comes across more of a bronzy blush with highlighting particles.

Overall, this is a fantastic everyday palette. I do love the versatility of the palette as it can go from day to night. You can create a subtle or sultry smoky eye with this palette. I tend to the mix and match both sides a lot although I am more partial to the right side.

Price: US $58.00 & CAD $70.00 – 0.48 oz.
