a MASCARA moment…

masacar-review-best-mascara-a-mascara-moment-002masacar-review-best-mascara-a-mascara-moment-001Mascara is just one of those things you can never have enough of, at least for me and finding the perfect mascara is my lifelong mission. The moment you find one you think is the one for you, you spot another one you simply must try! I am constantly changing the ones I use, but I do have a few current favorites at the moment that I have on rotation.

I’m partial to non-waterproof mascaras; I just don’t like the rubbing and tugging at my eyes at the end of the day to get it off. Also, for the most part, majority of the mascaras I use are usually from the drugstore. So whether you want curled, elongated or voluminous lashes, here in no particular order are some favourites…

Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
This is supposed to be a 4-in-1 mascara that is lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning; but honestly, this is my least favorite of the bunch, and I am just not that impressed with it at all. I really wanted to love this mascara after seeing so many others in the beauty community raving about it, plus one of my favorite Youtuber adores this mascara; however, it just didn’t work for me. I found the formula to be very dry and I just don’t like the brush. This mascara provided no additional length nor volume and it didn’t feel like it had any effect on my lashes. However, if you are looking for a soft look and want something that will give natural looking, groomed lashes, then this will work. The way I like to use this mascara is by pairing it with the L’Oreal Voluminous Black Angel Miss Manga mascara.

Maybelline Lash Sensational
I’m not going to say too much about this mascara because I have a review here but I LOVE this drugstore mascara. Lash Sensational’s mascara formula contains low levels of wax, which gives it a liquid texture that easily glides on with the brush’s unique bristles so it looks like you have more lashes. The result is thick, lush lashes with a full-fan effect, every time.

Maybelline The Colossal Chaotic Lash
This is another great mascara from the drugstore. I initially didn’t care too much for this mascara but the more I use it, the more I have fallen for it. Really though, the only positive thing about this mascara is the length it gives me but that’s okay because I have ZERO lashes. They are short, straight and sad, so any mascara that will lengthen is a winner for me; but is can weighs down your lashes and clumps so no more than two coats should do. I have also had better control in handling the wand since it’s kind of a larger wand. I have a blog post on this you can read here.

L’Oreal Voluminous Black Angel Miss Manga – Extra Black
This mascara is much like the original L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara, but with neo-black pigments to help create an intensely black lash effect from top to bottom. It has the same amazing 360 degree flexible angle with a narrow tip that allows you to reach all of those fine inner and outer lashes. It is the same brush, same drier formula with the same, dramatic results. I do like the application; it is even, with no spidery lashes or clumps to be seen, and the brush made it super easy to reach those tiny lashes in the inner corners. I like to use about 2 coats for longer thicker lashes. The only thing I do not like about this mascara is the fact that it flakes.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
While I’m less than impressed with the name of this product, I do like the sleek metallic pink packaging and dense, hourglass-shaped brush. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara long lasting, film-forming polymer formula not only adds length, definition and volume, it keeps lashes curled without smudging or flaking. The mascara does a great job at curling my lashes, lengthening them and adds a lot of volume. I have a blog post on this you can read here.

What is your favorite mascara at the moment?
