While I love me some Mascara and Blush, I am also a sucker for a good highlighter. I love the glow, especially natural glow lit from within highlighters. I’m also not much into cream highlighters because I personally find them a bit difficult to work with; however, after swatching the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight on my last trip to Sephora, it was so beautiful I couldn’t pass it up. So I will only be reviewing the highlighter stick as the contouring stick did not appeal that much to me and I currently have 2 contouring palettes (Review Here & Here) that I am quite enjoying at the moment!
Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight – 01 Hefty Highlight (US $21.00 / CAD $24.00) is an oil-free cream highlighting stick. The highlighter is a twist-up cream formulation, pretty much like their contour stick and is an extension to their Chubby Stick range. The highlighter has a soft pinkish silvery hue to it that is more on the cool-tone side with a frosty finish. It does have gentle pearl like shimmer in it that blends beautifully into the skin.
It is formulated with light-reflecting optics to illuminate the face. I used the highlighting stick to bring forward my cheekbones and blend letting the warmth of my fingertips helped melt the formula into the skin. It is ideal for wearing over bare skin or foundation, and to spotlight the top of cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and other areas. I also personally enjoy using it on my brow bone and the inner corner of my eyes to highlight those areas. The highlighter is noticeable but subtle and gives a really radiant finish to the skin without actually looking like you’re wearing makeup. It has the perfect amount of shimmer and has a gorgeous sheen to it. It goes on smoothly and blends easily.
Surprisingly I really really like this cream highlighter. It is a quick and easy highlighter that looks so natural! Overall rating: 4.5/5
